On the Bones Scene: Michael Clarke Duncan and Geoff Stults

Are any of my fellow locals as excited as I am about all the new television shows shooting in our own backyard? Between Burn Notice, The Glades, Charlie’s Angels, and now The Locator, the streets of the 305 will be even busier than usual! (Not to mention all the jobs opening up to the community)

Photographed today were The Green Mile star Michael Clarke Duncan, Law & Order: Criminal Intent star Saffron Burrows and lead actor Geoff Stults who is known mostly for his work on Happy Town and 7th Heaven. (oh and he is smokin’ hot! Check out photo on right!)...

Mega Buzz: Baby Blues on Bones

Will we see Angela and Hodgins' baby on Bones this season? — Jessica
ADAM:
Let's play good news, bad news. Bad news first: "Hodgins and Angela will have to deal with something quite serious with the baby," executive producer Stephen Nathan tells us of the March episode that finds D.C. shut down by an enormous blizzard. (Topical!) The good news: Both parents and baby will survive the snowpocalypse. "We will definitely see a baby," Nathan says.

Mid Season Ratings: The Top 50 So Far!

The 2010-11 season is more than half over, so it’s time to check in to see what you people are watching (or avoiding like the plague). The news isn’t that great for the Big Four: From the Sept. 20 start of the season through Feb. 13, every net except the CW is down among adults 18-49, the most important demographic to advertisers. CBS is posting the biggest drop at 12 percent, followed by ABC (11 percent), Fox (8 percent) and NBC (4 percent). The CW, in comparison, is up 11 percent (though that’s not exactly the sand box that the teen-loving network likes to play in). If it’s any consolation, the collective adult 18-49 rating for all of TV — and we mean every last network — is down 2 percent versus a year ago, so its not just the broadcast nets that may be taking a hit...

Happy Bones Day!

Tonight, The Bikini in the Soup airs 9/8c on Fox! It's the Valentine's Day episode, so happy late Valentine's Day to you all!

BONES: Is Brennan the Consolation Prize?

For the first time all season, this Thursday’s episode of BONES will feature Booth and Brennan single and free of significant romantic relationships…just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Luckily for them, they’re investigating the case of a murdered wedding planner, so not everyone will be feeling the lovey-dovey holiday.

We’ve tackled a little bit of what’s next for the Booth and Brennan, but the looming question for many fans is how their relationship will develop now that Hannah is out of the picture.

In this season’s “The Doctor in the Photo,” Brennan told Booth she had made a mistake by turning him down when he wanted to give their romance a shot. Booth’s reply to her confession was that he loved Hannah and his new girlfriend wasn’t a consolation prize.

So where does that leave Brennan now that Hannah is out of the picture? Does that make our girl Booth’s consolation prize since the only reason he’s single is because Hannah rejected his marriage proposal?

I went to BONES creator Hart Hanson to get his take on the situation…

Bones Preview: Confession Time Is Coming

Coming up on Fox’s Bones, a somewhat chilly Valentine’s Day stands to be offset by a blizzard that, ironically, could warm things up between Booth and Brennan.

First up, this Thursday at 9/8c, is an episode “that kind of gets them over the hump of Hannah,” who just last week informed her bling-bearing beau that she’s not the marrying type...

Question: Could you tell me if we’ll meet Angela and Hodgins’ baby before the season finale of Bones? —Amanda
Ausiello:
EP Stephen Nathan sidestepped that question and offered up this cryptic tease instead: “There’s going to be a bump in the road with the pregnancy,” he told TVLine’s Matt Mitovich. “They’re going to be dealing with some events they didn’t see coming.”

Question: Wasn’t Emily Deschanel supposed to direct an episode of Bones this season? Is that still happening? —Jill
Ausiello:
It’s been postponed for scheduling reasons, but Nathan still hopes to make it happen. “It’s a difficult situation now because we’re also [shooting] the spinoff [on location] in Florida,” he elaborates. “We have a crew shooting there, we’re shooting two episodes at once, and Emily and David [Boreanaz] both work so hard, such long hours…. It’s difficult, but we’re doing everything we can to work it out.”

The Sniper Returns

Booth’s newest nemesis, an old sniper buddy who killed The Gravedigger to get Booth’s attention, will return on March 10. Nathan says that Booth is determined to capture the sniper on March 10, but this dredges up a lot of his own insecurities about being a sniper and what kind of a man that makes him. Ask Matt - February 14

Question: After watching the last 10 minutes of last week's Bones play out, I was left disappointed and heavy by what happened (which was a big bummer after watching the wonderful Friday Night Lights finale beforehand). Booth clearly should not have been so presumptuous in proposing, when clearly (at least in my humble opinion) he was doing it to prove to himself that he has moved on and can have a successful, lasting relationship. I understand how he could say the things he said at the bar to Brennan. He was upset. I guess what bothers me most is that this episode highlighted just how off and not fun the relationship between Booth and Brennan has been this season, which has made the show much less enjoyable to watch. It makes me even more mad to read comments by the writers who act like they haven't made a misstep. What do you think about the whole situation? Do you think the tone of the show and the central relationship can be fixed? After reading all the heated comments on the community boards (which I know you advise against), it would be nice to hear a levelheaded assessment. — Amy

Matt Roush: Well, maybe it isn't the best idea to use Bones as a Friday Night Lights chaser. Honestly, I'm not sure what the show's writers could do to please the unruly constituents. They break up Booth and the opposite-of-loved Hannah, and you'd think there'd at least be a cheer for that. They give Booth and Bones a climactic scene of emotional reconciliation at the bar, which incidentally is one of David Boreanaz' most affecting scenes in a long while. It's called drama, folks. That said, I don't think anyone is blind to the fact that fans were more irritated than pleased about the Hannah obstacle, but now that they've fixed it and reset the Booth-Bones partnership with some new shadings of awareness of just what they mean to each other, I'm thinking maybe we can just sit back and enjoy the show again for a while. I don't think the show or certainly the central relationship is irreparably broken, and the numbers (thankfully abetted by the American Idol lead-in) seem to bear that out.

For some of you, I’d imagine the abrupt breakup wasn’t what you were expecting.

Bones scoop: Details on where Brennan and Booth go from here, when the sniper returns, and an episode unlike any we've seen before

Bones exec producer Stephen Nathan is not afraid to admit that he welled up while cutting the final two scenes of last night’s episode of the Fox drama, which he considers David Boreanaz’s best work of the six-season-old series. (Watch clips of them below.) He says producers wanted to put Booth (Boreanaz) in a more difficult place following Hannah’s rejection of his marriage proposal than he was before (when he was just reeling from the rejection of Emily Deschanel’s Brennan followed by her finally admitting her feelings when he’d moved on). They succeeded...

Bones Boss Weighs In Latest Romantic Twist: 'Booth Went Out On a Limb'

Going by the final moments of this week’s Bones, it portends to be a very bittersweet –- if not outright sad — Valentine’s Day for Seeley Booth (played by David Boreanaz). Buoyed by Sweets’ enthusiasm to pop the question to Daisy as well as the love he feels for his own girlfriend, Booth bought a sparkler for Hannah only to see his bid for marriage get shot down not much unlike by a sniper’s bullet.

We know what you’re thinking: Is the door now wide open for Booth and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) to finally get on the same page and evolve their friendship into something more? Or is D.C.’s most eligible marksman now, ironically, gun-shy? As the pivotal episode unspooled, TVLine spoke with Bones exec producer Stephen Nathan about the aftermath...

Bones News: Working on Episode 18

They're working on episode 18 right now. They skipped 17 because they need to prep it. Visitation is not allowed while filming the 17th episode because it's the spin-off episode.

Bones proposal episode: How screwed is Hannah?

Despite Bones producers (and writers) repeatedly telling us how much Brennan likes Booth’s girlfriend Hannah — which means we should, too — a large portion of the audience has never warmed to the character. That makes tonight’s episode, in which Booth and Sweets decide in the opening booze-filled scene to propose to each of their girlfriends, particularly interesting. Assuming Booth does end up popping the question, Hannah will be damned if she says “I do” and, perhaps, damned if she doesn’t. (Why wouldn’t she want to marry our Seeley?) How do you hope this plays out? And how do you think this plays out? ...

Bones' "Game-Changer" Proposal: Will Booth Pop the Question?

Tonight's episode of Bones forces Seeley Booth to answer two questions: Is he ready to get married? And if so, who does he want to spend his life with?

As Booth (David Boreanaz) counsels Sweets (John Francis Daley) about his own intentions to propose to Daisy (Carla Gallo), Booth takes a hard look at his own relationships with girlfriend Hannah (Kathryn Winnick) and longtime friend and colleague Dr. Brennan (Emily Deschanel)...

Where's the fun in that? Executive producer Stephen Nathan summed up the episode in three words: Big. Game. Changer. "We've existed this whole year with Booth and Brennan accepting, admitting and also denying their feelings for each another and with Booth in a very serious relationship with another woman — much to the dismay of a lot of fans," Nathan says with a laugh. "I think the episode will be a satisfying conclusion to this story line and also a great start for the next development that happens in the show emotionally. It will be very difficult and very painful, and David [Boreanaz] really brings that home."

BONES: Hart Hanson Teases Family for Hodgins, Avalon’s Return and the Fate of the Squinterns

With BONES nearing the halfway point of season six, things are starting to come together, aren’t they? The multi-episode sniper arc kicked off last week with a fantastic episode. Cam’s love life will once again be front-and-center. And there are some really fun upcoming cases headed our way.

I chatted with BONES creator Hart Hanson about returning guest stars, which family member might soon be showing up for Hodgins, the fate of the squinterns, Daisy-Sweets and Avalon’s mystery piece of information…

Westfield native Michelle Joyner has job to die for

WESTFIELD – Connie Joyner estimates she has watched her actress daughter die more than a half-dozen times – most memorably plummeting 4,000 feet to the Earth in the first five minutes of “Cliffhanger,” a 1993 thriller starring Sylvester Stallone.

Luckily, Michelle Joyner is alive and well and living in Brentwood, Calif., with her 11-year-old twin boys and her director husband.

The Westfield native has consistently scored film and television roles since the early 1990s, after striking out to become a model in New York City following her graduation from high school in 1979.

Since her breakout role as the ill-fated “Sarah” in the Stallone movie, Michelle Joyner has starred in films with Dustin Hoffman, Kevin Kline and other Hollywood A-listers in addition to dozens of guest spots on popular TV series from “Knots Landing” to “The X-Files” and Thursday evening will appear in the popular Fox series, “Bones.”

Ask Ausiello: February 1

Question: Is there any truth to the rumor that Booth will be breaking up with Hannah in the Feb. 10 episode of Bones? Or is it possible that they might get engaged? Please tell me anything to calm my nerves before I die from anxiety! —Bee
Ausiello: I’m not commenting on what specifically goes down in the Feb. 10 episode, but I will say this: It’s my understanding that Katheryn Winnick will be making her final appearance as Hannah within the next two months. I give you permission to shoot the messenger a nice email of appreciation at askausiello@tvline.com. (BTW, I hear the Feb. 10 episode is absolutely stellar.)

SPECIAL AA BLIND ITEM: A popular couple on a show you’re nuts about will tie the knot during February sweeps — but there’s a twist, and I’m not telling you what it is. I will, however, reveal that the show in question is Grey’s Anatomy. Or Smallville. Or Gossip Girl. Or Bones. Or Glee. One of those five. Hit the comments with your theories!
