‘Bones’ Revelations

At the same party, Buffalo native Stephen Nathan, a writer- producer on “Bones,” revealed some plans for the Fox hit that co-stars Buffalo native David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel.

The series picks up where it left off last season with Booth’s (Boreanaz) recovery from brain surgery appearing to draw him and Brennan (Deschannel) closer.

“In a way, we’re resetting the template for the series and the Booth and Brennan relationship,” said Nathan, “knowing that they both share this secret — her writing a book about them being together and him having this fantasy that they were together.”

In the season finale, Brennan was writing a novel that had her and Booth running a nightclub while they were married and she was pregnant. Booth, meanwhile, was hallucinating. Her novel and his fantasy were played out on the show.

“That was her book, but it was also his fantasy,” said Nathan. “So they shared this thing. We’re starting out the season with Booth kind of recovering from that and going back to work and the two of them joining forces again but also having this new piece of information that they both are keeping to themselves.

“Their relationship is a bit more charged ... And the secondary characters are going to have a bit more importance than they have in the past.”

And what does he mean by a “bit more charged?” “There is a bit more sexual tension between them and we’ll kind of explore that.”

This is part of a much larger article written by Alan Pergament, a TV Critic at Buffalo News.

Fox ‘Bones’ Brennan & Booth May Kiss In 5th Season Premiere

Article from On The Flix Click there and there's also an amusing photo of Hart and Emily at ComicCon, link thanks to @WillySpooky!

Fox Bones’ star Emily Deschanel (Dr. Temperance ‘Bones’ Brennan) and Bones’ executive producer Hart Hanson spoke with EW’s Ausiello at the 2009 Comic-Con event and they hinted at a few spoilers, but didn’t give anything definite away (video below).

They were asked if Temperance Brennan and Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) are going to kiss in the upcoming 5th season opener. Hart answered saying it was scripted, but wouldn’t say if they actually shot it or not,and told Emily not say anything either. So they may or may not kiss in the season premiere. We’ll just have to wait and see.

They talked about the backlash that they got from the 4th season finale when they teased at a possible love scene between Brennan and Booth. Hart said that they did a good job addressing that in the upcoming 5th season premiere.

They also go on to say that they will eventually address it more as the 5th season goes on. The video concluded with Hart stating that the season finale was more for their loyal fans who have watched the show since its inception because they have more of an understanding of what’s going on.

The 5th season of “Bones” is set to premiere Thursday September 17,2009 at 7pm central time on FOX

Crossed paths: Another Bones crossover?

Thanks to @WillySpooky for the link, Article courtesy of TV.com!

First Family Guy, now another Fox show may be co-mingling with Booth and Brennan.

You have to give credit to the producers of Fox's Bones; they're not afraid of toying around with their light-hearted forensics drama. Case in point: Last season they made the shocking choice of writing a crossover episode with Family Guy. An animated program. It's still a head-scratcher.

But it worked -- just take a look at the episode's 9.4 rating by TV.com users.

Having conquered their first crossover, Bones writers may now be looking at a second, albeit much more traditional, cross-pollination.

According to EW.com, there's very early discussion to bring over Lie to Me's fib-detector Dr. Cal Lightman (Tim Roth) to work a case with Bones' Booth and Brennan. However, talks are so new that it "may not even happen."

Crossovers are dangerous ground to tread, but Bones is one of those rare programs that's perfectly suited for them. Kudos to Fox for even entertaining the idea and trusting Bones' scribes to do it justice.

Are you a fan of the television crossover?

David Boreanaz, How's Your Brain?

Thanks to @Rebecca1158 who tweeted this to me. :) Kristin from E!Online wraps up the TCA Event.

We're all past the Booth/Bones season finale hookup debacle, right? Great. Let's move onto the next important Bones question at hand: So, uh, David, how's your brain?

Such was the question asked at the Bones set visit during the Television Critics Association press tour today, to which David Boreanaz replied with some revealing information about next season…

"My brain is fine," he deadpanned. "Actually, as far as the character is concerned? It's an interesting thing to happen, I think, to him. He does have a remembrance of certain things, but he's not adept at other things that he thought he was."

For example? "In the last episode about plumbing, he was reading a book about how to do plumbing but he can't remember how to plumb [sic] his own kitchen sink. So I have to have to revisit things that Booth is very good at," he said.

This re-learning of things that Booth knew pre-coma will run throughout the season and it "might spill over into the job" as well, he said.

Stephen Nathan (executive producer) added, "It's a matter of rediscovering your character and in that process rediscovering Brennan [Emily Deschanel]. And that's why that event [i.e., the finale], while it might have been not technically real, was very, very real to them. And, they see each other differently. And, that event, either in the book or in his coma, is real to them. "

"And," chimed in David, "it makes me want to reinvest my time and energy into a relationship because I don't remember certain things that now we're back to ground zero again. We're even worse than ground zero."

They also spilled that there will be another new assistant (or two) next season. Hart Hanson (executive producer) said, "I know we'll bring in at least one more. And we have ideas for two…Possibly two, if we lose one of our regulars."

Before you freak out, Hart didn't mean that a regular cast member is leaving. He meant a regular squint (er, that would mean colleague).

Which squint would you be sad to see go? Do you think the finale was coma-induced or from Brennan's novel? Do you like Booth's storyline? Discuss!

Feel free to comment on Kristin's post HERE or just leave a comment here. :) Or both. See how flexible I am?

Bones & Booth's relationship changed

seriouslyomgwtf: Some tidbits from the Bones set visit. Emily said Bones & Booth's relationship changed af the wht they visioned in their minds in the finale

David's idea

seriouslyomgwtf: Bones - Oh and it was David's idea in the carnival ep to play him as a Russian something he came up with two days before they filmed it.

No regrets

HitFixDaniel: Hart Hanson says he has no regrets about last season's misleading finale spoilers. Gets people talking about the show.
