Buck and Wanda are at it again, and it’s fabulous.

It’s a fall finale that will likely leave you speechless, and no, I’m not exaggerating.
Now, while I can’t give away too many details (and trust me, you don’t want me to), here are a few hints about the two-part fall finale...

Bones Preview: 4 Hints About the Midseason Finale

Bones fans will get a double helping of the gang at the Jeffersonian with its midseason finale featuring back-to-back episodes this Thursday. In the first hour Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) go undercover as strangers at a Wild West shooting competition and once again take on their alter ego personas of Buck and Wanda. Meanwhile, Angela (Michaela Conlin) and Hodgins (T.J. Thyne) discuss the future size of their family. Both hours also feature Cam (Tamara Taylor) questioning the state of her love life and that gets even more complicated when ex Arastoo (Peg Vahdat) shows up in the second episode to help with the investigation of a murdered police officer.
We’ve seen both episodes of the midseason finale and are offering up a few hints about what to expect below. We’ve also got the answers to a few questions submitted to us by readers. While we want to help tide you over until Thursday night, we do warn that we never want to ruin anyone’s viewing experience, so all hints and answers are more general teases instead of flat-out spoilers...

8 Ways the 'Bones' Winter Finale Will Blow Your Socks Off

Bones made some lofty promises before launching season 11 this past October. After reviewing "The Cowboy in the Contest" and the winter finale, "The Doom in the Boom," I can attest that Bones star Emily Deschanel and Executive Producer Michael Peterson were not just whistling Dixie when they coyly alluded to the provocative content in store for their millions of fans as we head into the winter bleak, er, I mean 'break' for who-knows-how-long. FOX is reserving the right to frustrate fans until they know for sure which of their primetime science experiments will bomb before committing Bones into a spring date and time slot ... in case you hadn't heard (Insert beady-eyed accusatory cough here). But this send off is brilliant, if not somber.

Let's briefly revisit Deschanel and Peterson's highfalutin promises as I parcel out my customary cryptic teases about both episodes airing back-to-back on December 10. "Cowboy in the Competition" and "The Doom in the Boom" are the definition of juxtaposition; a perfect combination of opposites to capture and remind us of all the elements that draw us to this 'roman-cedural' crimedy. Hopefully it will be enough to bridge the gaping hiatus and bring all eyeballs forward to the back end of season 11...

BONES: BONES: Six Teasers from the Cowboy and Explosion-Filled Winter Finale

Booth and Brennan are going back undercover in the first half of the two-hour BONES winter finale. But after a lighthearted and fun episode, the mood turns serious. In the second hour, the team tries to find a cop killer. After having watched the two episodes, we have some teasers to share with you.
Giddy-up! The squints are called in to investigate the death of an accountant who liked to participate in the Frontier Games on the weekend, which involve people wearing traditional cowboy garb and participating in shooting and other competitions. Booth is eager to go undercover at the upcoming games in an attempt to find the killer, thinking that it will be fun. But it’s really Aubrey who seems desperate to participate and can’t stop talking about riding horses. Eventually, he has one of the best entrance lines of the episode (“I’m your posse!”)...

5 Things to Know About BONES Mid-Season Double-Header

On Thursday Bones will roll out two back to back episodes to mark the show’s mid-season finale, and final episodes of 2015. “The Cowboy in the Contest” and “The Doom in the Boom,” are, with the exception of a couple of plot points, mostly unrelated, and serve (unintentionally or not) to starkly juxtapose the show’s trademark humor with some more dramatic and emotional beats. “The Cowboy in the Contest” sees Booth and Brennan re-immersing themselves in their Buck and Wanda personas as they go undercover at a Wild West shooting contest in order to oust a murderer...

Booth and Brennan Go Undercover in the Wild West on the Bones Fall Finale

Giddyup! Bones' Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) are going back undercover in the first hour of the two-part fall finale.
As the duo work to solve a murder in "The Cowboy in the Contest," the investigation takes them to an Old West-style shooting competition where they take on their undercover personas, Buck and Wanda. But enjoy the lightheartedness of the western hour while you can, because things will get considerably darker in the second episode, "The Doom in the Boom."...
