Keck's Exclusives: Emily Deschanel's Bones Wedding Gift
The episode, which finds a wedding planner murdered, "is one of our more amusing cases, enabling us to have fun with everybody's relationships," says Hanson. For instance, there'll be trouble for Daisy and Sweets after she reads his diary. Tsk, tsk. And the wedding talk will find Booth and Brennan again contemplating their own romantic possibilities. Does that mean Booth's lady love Hannah will be bye-bye by V-Day? "If I tell you how long Hannah's around, you might figure out what happens," says Hanson. "I will say the triangle story is dealt with in January."
I wonder what Hart hanson has in mind.

Ask Matt: November 29
Question: I would greatly appreciate your explanation on some Bones-related questions. In a recent interview, executive producer Stephen Nathan said the following: "I know so many of the fans are upset that Booth is with Hannah and asking how could we do that, and when are Booth and Brennan gonna get back 'together,' or when are they gonna get together ultimately. I think it's the difficulties and the dissatisfaction that propels the show forward in a way. That there's some frustration with these characters that we've grown to love over five and a half years: We want them to do certain things. We want them to see what's right behind that door. But obviously, if they did right away, fans would be very disappointed, and then they would go and watch whatever's on the other channels." My questions: Why would a show want to cause dissatisfaction amongst its fan base? Does this actually increase ratings? Why do both Hart Hansen and Stephen Nathan say they don't believe in the Moonlighting curse and then say people will change the channel if two main characters are in a romantic relationship?
I also have a few questions about the recent Fox announcement that Bones is moving an hour later on Thursday to 9/8c. Do you think that Fox took into account that the Hannah storyline would not be popular with a segment of the fan base and to protect Bones' ratings they moved it behind American Idol so that any fans they lost would be made-up by casual viewers? They could have just as likely moved their new show The Chicago Code into this slot and moved Bones behind House on Monday. Isn't it traditional to place a new show behind American Idol to build a fan base? What is the purpose of putting a well-established show behind American Idol? — Rose
Matt Roush: Let's take the easy part of the question first. Bones' shift to an hour later on Thursday has nothing to do with anything the show is doing internally and everything to do with American Idol, which is Fox's No. 1 priority in the new year. Idol invading Thursday is a major change and a calculated risk, and Bones has already proven itself on the night, so it makes more sense for Fox to pair Idol with a proven commodity in a very tough time period (opposite CSI, Grey's Anatomy and The Office, each with dedicated fan bases) than to try to launch a new show on Thursday, even with the Idol lead-in. (In April, Fox is planning to use the Wednesday Idol performance show to launch the new sitcom Breaking In, so that strategy hasn't entirely been abandoned.)
Regarding Bones and Booth and fan discontent: There's never an easy way to address this subject, just as there's no easy way for the show to resolve the problem of when, how and whether to resolve this sexual-tension situation. Clearly, the producers feel that if Bones turns into an all-out romantic procedural where the leads are sleeping together while solving cases together, something will be lost. (Same goes for the Castle-Beckett dynamic over at Castle.) If that is truly the way they feel, I wish they'd just stop teasing everyone, because that's where the real discontent sets in. If anyone believed Hannah was the real deal for Booth, that would be one thing. But she's obviously just another road bump, so it's irritating. Personally, I'd love it if Bones found an intellectual equal who attracted her in a way that we (and Booth) might believe she'd found a soul mate and see where that goes. But even that would likely frustrate fans to no end. I appreciate Stephen Nathan acknowledging that frustration and dissatisfaction can be useful dramatic tools, even if fans predictably turn those words against him. But such a ploy can only take you so far. Bones is one of those litmus-test shows that continues to test the limits of how far a show can go in trying its audience's patience. To be quite honest, the show is still doing well enough that it doesn't seem to have alienated the fan base to the point of no return.

Happy Bones Day!
Today’s TV Addict Top 5: Things You Didn’t Know About BONES Creator Hart Hanson
He cares deeply for his loyal audience.
While angry frustrated Booth and Brennan ‘shippers’ may find this somewhat hard to swallow at the moment, Hart Hanson really does care about his audience. “I am the first to admit that my bias on BONES is to hang on to my audience rather than risk losing them,” explained Hanson during his recent talk as part of the Canadian Film Centre Test Pattern Series. “When you say it out loud it sounds quite cowardly, but in our first year we were bounced around [the schedule] so much that when I saw those 6 million people follow us so that we survived living past Christmas, a light went off for me that said that this is a cult hit… an acquired taste… a fine scotch. Okay, we’re none of those things, really, we’re a goofy romantic crimedy, but my force on it has always been to be respectful and hope that our loyal audience sticks with us no matter what. Which is ironic because those are the same people who scream at me for things like Hannah!.”

BONES: Stephen Nathan Previews Brennan’s ‘Emotional Upheaval,’ the Sniper’s Victim(s), a Valentine’s Day Episode and More
In the months since the powers-that-be behind BONES started teasing the upcoming Brennan point of view episode, fans have been speculating what the heck will go down.
BONES star Michaela Conlin was hesitant to discuss it during our chat. Thankfully, executive producer Stephen Nathan was far more willing to talk about the hour. Based on what he said, it appears the final result is a bit different than what they initially intended to do when the episode was first conceived. Regardless, it sounds as if the hour will be getting a definite reaction from viewers.
Read on for Nathan’s take on that, the return of the Gravedigger, the sniper, when Cyndi Lauper might return, their Valentine’s Day episode and much more…

Mega Buzz: A Bones Epiphany
ADAM: Sooner than you think. In the midseason finale, Brennan investigates the murder of a workaholic, and Bones quickly draws parallels to her own life. "She's forced to face feelings that she's never had to deal with before," executive producer Stephen Nathan says. "She confronts the fact that this woman was running her whole life from feeling anything and she has to confront whether she's going to run her whole life from feeling anything. It butts right up against her relationship with Booth and the past five years of history."

Millions of Bones fans may want to rip the skin from my Bones — er, bones — for saying this, but I like the Brennan-Booth-Hannah love triangle. OK, it’s not really a triangle since Brennan isn’t in love with her FBI partner, but it’s also nice to see her interact with another strong female character. And, thanks to Hannah, Brennan — and us fans — have gotten to see a softer side to Booth, not to mention visits to his apartment to see what goes on when Seeley goes home. Turns out he likes dark wood accents, a nice bottle of wine and a roll in the hay with his lady love. —Greg David

Katheryn Winnick Guest-Stars
Booth and Brennan’s next case leads them to a crime scene where a human carcass has literally melted into the dashboard of a charred truck. As the team investigates the case, they discover a gunshot wound in the victim, but learn that neither the fire nor the bullet was the cause of the victim’s death. Additional clues lead them to a local high school where the victim’s wife is a teacher. As a student-teacher relationship begins to surface and a pattern takes shape in the lab, the team is able to track down the murder weapon and solve the crime. Meanwhile, Sweets resists the temptation of allowing his feelings for Daisy to interfere with helping her pass a government psychological evaluation, and Hannah (guest star Winnick) attempts to break the ice and warm up to Booth’s son Parker (guest star Ty Panitz) in the all-new “The Twisted Bones in the Melted Truck” episode of BONES airing Thursday, Dec. 2 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Linda McGee: When you first decided to put pen to paper what inspired you? Did you have an idea for an interesting character or did it just strike that the work you did as a forensic anthropologist might make for interesting stories?
KR: Yeah. The bottom line is a good story. I wanted to write a good story. But I am fanatic about getting the science accurate, even if it's not my science, if I'm using forensic ballistics analysis or blood spatter pattern or whatever, I do sit down with one of our expects at the lab and go through it so that I make sure I have it right. But you still have to, in writing fiction... people don't want to read a textbook, they want to learn something but you have to keep it very brief, you have to keep it jargon-free and entertaining, which is not a pre-requisite for writing textbooks.

BONES: Michaela Conlin Teases an Upcoming Hodgela Development
As some BONES fans have noticed, things have been a little different this season. The addition of Hannah as Booth’s girlfriend means that characters like Angela, Cam and Hodgins are more often in the background than some fans would like.
But rest assured, when I chatted with the always delightful Michaela Conlin (Angela), she said that things will start to pick up soon, starting with Thursday’s all new episode.

Bones: A Ton of Hart
'Bones' creator spills on Booth’s new girlfriend, super-fans on Twitter and the future of the franchise
Hart Hanson is laughing at me. Not in a mean way, mind you, but it is at my expense. Sitting across from me in the swanky bar ensconced in Toronto’s Four Seasons hotel, the Canadian creator of Bones is tickled that I turned to Twitter for questions about his primetime baby.
In preparation for my interview with him, I thought it would be fun to include questions from fans of Brennan and Booth and the rest of the Jeffersonian crew. What were their burning thoughts and desires, I wondered. Well, I was besieged by queries, hence Hanson’s mirth...

Did Hart Hanson Inadvertently Reveal When Booth and Brennan Would Finally Get Together?
Perhaps, kinda, well, maybe.
Okay, in the interest of full disclosure, Hart Hanson did not casually take us aside during Monday’s Canadian Film Centre Test Pattern Series to give a fellow Canadian TV Addict the scoop of the century! That said, what he did do was offer up a tantalizing clue — that if one were to read between the lines — may have inadvertently revealed a time frame for Booth and Brennan’s inevitable coupling.
Allow us to explain...Transcript of Hart Hanson at Global Theatre
So I went to see Hart Hanson (Creator of the TV series 'Bones') last night at the Varsity theater -- a new event in re-emergence of the CFC's TEST PATTERN series -- and I have to say that I thought it was an absolutely brilliant time.
Mr. Hanson doesn't seem to be one to pull many punches when he talks about the creation and running of his show -- especially in regards to the politics of running said show -- and I sat there riveted to my seat, just trying to soak it all in.
I really want to thank the CFC (also Global and Fox) for putting this thing together as it was definitely worth the time and I can't wait to check out the next one...
