Details on 2 The Girl in the Mask Characters
[DR. ASA TANAKA] Male, mid-20s, ambiguous, androgynous, oddly attractive, MUST BE JAPANESE. DR. TANAKA is Japan's equivalent to Dr. Brennan. Brilliant and acutely scientific, he has flown in from Japan to aid SERGEANT KEN NAKAMURA in the investigation of Sachi Nakamura's murder. While he's found by Dr. Brennan to be extremely helpful in the lab, the rest of her staff can't stop trying to figure out if DR. TANAKA is a he or she... GUEST STAR.

Hanson on Baby Daddy Comment
Here is the interview, source: SearchingBones.com
Q: I wanted to ask you; in August, I did an interview with your writing team of Bones - Karine Rosenthal and Liz Benjamin and the whole crew. At the time, they gave me a scoop that still hasn’t come to pass. They said, “Brennan would like Booth to be the father of her child.”
H. Hanson: That’s true.
Q: Is that still in the works?
H. Hanson: It is still in the works. It’s exactly like the previous question. What case can we be in that resonates with Brennan suddenly deciding she wants to have a child and that Booth would be the perfect father for it? That has not come up yet. It will before the end of the season.
There’s one that’s horribly obvious, but we don’t want to do that. We try not to do that in Bones, which concerns a group based on, a little bit ripped from the headlines, on a group of girls who decide to have children. I think it was Gloucester, MA that that actually happened in, that 16 girls or something. So, we’re doing our take on that.
That was just a little too on the nose for us. So, it was in there for a bit and it’s come out, but it will happen. You have a good memory.
Upcoming Episode Info
In an episode directed by BONES star David Boreanaz, bungee-jumping newlyweds plunge off a bridge on their wedding day only to come face-to-face with a corpse lying at the bottom of the gorge. When they notice an unknown substance oozing from the body, the lab is thrown into immediate lockdown, and they realize they have only 24 hours to unravel the mystery before the bones disintegrate.

With the horrified couple’s wedding day ruined, Booth and Brennan hike down the rocky creek bed to examine the corpse and determine that the victim was already dead before he was thrown off of the bridge, thus ruling out suicide. Alexa's Trip to the Set & PIcs
Mayhem on the cross... This one was pretty weird. I didn't get to read the whole entire script but i looked at the B&B ending.
This episode has Gordon Wyatt in it. Basically, Gordon is retiring and feels like they don't need him because they have Sweets. Booth is shocked to hear that Gordon is retiring. The case goes on (I didn't read much of it).
Booth tells Gordon, in a way that Brennan understands, that he doesn't want him to retire.
The ending was cool. Sweets, Booth and Brennan were all sitting and they were taking turns telling each other about their past and what not.
Brennan ends up crying a little so Booth gives her his handkerchief. She thanks him and gives it back. Their hands touch and their eyes meet. Sweets then ruins the moment by nodding and saying how he understood what Gordon Wyatt said about them. Booth and Brennan invite Sweets over to Gordon's place for dinner.

Interesting New Spoiler...
Question: Seriously, Mike? You've gone weeks without giving us new Bones scoop! -- Esther
I was saving up for something good -- something like... this: According to executive producer Hart Hanson, a series of attacks within the Lab will cause "dissension and suspicion" amongst all of the main players by the end of the season, adding, "It will affect the way each and every character regards the others." Oh, and the Booth-Brennan sex thing in the May finale? Yep, still happening.

No spoiler clips for The Princess and the Pear, so I doubt there will be any. They usually put out clips, I believe, to assuage the blood-thirsty masses (AKA Bones Fans). So I bet there'll be tons out for The Bones that Foam (since the next air date is THREE WEEKS off.... argh!) On the up-side, it looks as if there'll be no more interruptions from March 12th until the BIG FINALE. (Who else is freaking excited?!?) I'm keeping my eyes pealed for spoilers!

Oh, I also discovered that the Canadian channel Global is airing The Princess and the Pear tonight at 8:00pm rather than the usual tomorrow timeslot (due to Survivor). So, if you're Canadian, you suck because of your awesome luck! ;)

Baby Bones?
The following was translated from a Mexican interview by Sofi. Source: Obsessed with Bones
“Bones” airs Tuesday’s at 10 pm on Fox.
Emily Deschanel hopes that the romance between Brennan and Booth doesn’t mean the end of ‘Bones’.
LOS ANGELES, United States.- In the middle of the intrigue and smell of death, the relationship between Dr. Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) became hotter on it’s fourth season.
Already from the begining of the show, the writer Hart Hanson and the stars of the show recognized that the attraction between Brennan and Booth could explode in any moment..
“There are two things that I said I’d to do this year: one of them that they will be on a bed together, naked…you know a hot stuff,” revealed Hanson between laughs.
“The other one is that she will ask him to consider being the father of her child.”
The also executive producer explained the actors, and specially Emily, that those "adjustments" are necessary so that the viewers are still hooked by their characters relationship.
That’s why, the creator told us the possibility that the doctor could get pregnant.
"I mean, if they are going to end up in bed naked, there's always a chance that a certain someone could end up pregnant, right?," said Hanson.
Not so long ago he thought that the show wouldn’t get to it’s fourth season, but now that they achieved that goal, the producer knows that he has to lay out attractive situations for the viewers.
“Since the first season I been asked, ‘when are they going to be together?’ And I thought, ‘I don’t have to worry about that. We are going to get canceled.”
“But now we have to embrace that. And it’s tough, because that not-consummated-love-vibe worked really well, and if you take that out, then you better have something better to replace it!”
And that’s because, in opinion to Hanson, tv shows haven’t been too kind with romantic relationships, as they always end up turning to something negative.
“That’s why we’ll try to push their consummation as long as we can. Then we’ll search for a funny and creative way to deal with it. I just hope that they don’t end up hating each other, as it happened on Moonlight. But I know that won’t happen.”
To Emily Deschanel it seems logical for Brennan and Booth to tie their bonds, but she can’t imagine how will the writers do to make them lower their guards and give in to that romance.
“However, I think that when that happens it could mean the end. And that’s not good, and it’s a worry for all of us; so, we have to be very careful,” pointed the actress.
DID YOU KNOW THAT…?
* Emily’s sister, Zooey, will join the show for one episode this season as a guest star.
* David Boreanaz directed the episode “The Bone That Foams.”
* Deschanel said that her character will show a little bit more of her real personality and she will become more social.

Gravedigger Recap Vid @ Fox.com
John Francis Daley Digs Deep...
If you've had Fox on in the past couple of days, you couldn't have missed seeing promos for the next "Bones" episode, Feb. 5's "Hero in the Hold," which will have Booth (David Boreanaz) buried alive on a ship by the Grave Digger. And that's just one of the developments coming up in the next three episodes. In a conference call today, John Francis Daley ("Kitchen Confidential," "Freaks and Geeks") shared some secrets about future episodes and an analysis of his "Bones" character, psychologist Lance Sweets.
In the Jan. 22 "Bones" episode, "Double Trouble in the Panhandle," it was revealed that Sweets is the progeny of carnie folk when Booth and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) went undercover at a circus. Since that's not something you see every day (not even on TV), was Daley surprised by the outcome?
bones-sweets.jpg
Daley: "Honestly, I have no idea what they're intending to do with my character in terms of that. It's not many times you can say your character comes from a family of carnies."
But Daley said that his character's background will be explored more in the next few episodes.
Daley: "We do sort of learn a little more about his growing up in foster care or whatever happened to him before he was adopted. From upcoming episodes, we learn where he came from and the secrets he's hidden along the way. I can't really go into specifics because it's all really speculative on my part."
It also looks like Sweets will get more in on the action in "Hero in the Hold." In that episode, Brennan, Hodgins and author Thomas Vega are summoned by a Federal Judge along with the U.S. Attorney about the investigation into the Grave Digger, where they learn that evidence from the case has gone missing. With Brennan and Hodgins having been victims of the Grave Digger and Vega writing a book about it, they become suspects in the missing evidence case. But when Brennan and the team receive a phone call from the Grave Digger informing them that Booth has been buried alive with only 24 hours worth of oxygen, the Grave Digger threatens to leave him to die unless Brennan brings the missing evidence. From Sweets' assessment of the Grave Digger, they know that they can't tell the authorities or the Grave Digger or he'll take it out on Booth. As Booth struggles to free himself, the team unites to find him. And Booth's younger bro, Jared (Brendan Fehr), is back in the mix.
Daley: "My character helps the team find out who the Grave Digger is in the next episode. I profile that person and help them to find out how to set Booth free. I have a fun little session with Brennan; she asks me to teach her how to interrogate people. I help her detect the subtlety of human emotions. I teach her the simplest things most people already know, but because Brennan thinks in a different way, it's all new to her. And then hilarity ensues."
A big part of the baby-faced Sweets' character is the drive to become a respected member of the team. In real life, the 23-year-old Daley goes after roles for characters about his age or a little bit younger.
Daley: "I'm still not getting any roles for anyone's father, or grandfather for that matter, unless I have some weird 'Benjamin Button' condition."
But while youthful looks can be helpful in Hollywood, they don't help much in the business of criminal psychology.
Daley: "(Sweets) is constantly trying to get through to these people that don't take him very seriously. He's very determined to be proven right, even if he's wrong. He's really willing to do anything to get respect, and usually someone who will do anything to get respect, loses all respect."
Aside from "taking a bullet for one of them," Daley doubts there's much Sweets can do to earn Booth and Brennan's respect, but that hasn't stopped his curiousity about them, in particular Booth. Daley said that many of David Boreanaz's one-liners aimed at him are ad-libbed.
Daley: "(David) has a knack for rattling off new and interesting things. Sweets sees something in Booth that hasn't been revealed. He's waiting for Booth to let it all out. If that means that Sweets is getting punched by Booth, so be it. He's going to constantly push and push to get what he wants out of Booth."
As for Brennan, Daley was asked if he thought their shared foster-care background would cause a bond to form between the two characters.
Daley: "It definitely seems like something the writers will explore in future episodes."
Daley also wouldn't mind exploring some of the things he does in real life -- kung fu and playing the piano. The martial arts could potentially come in handy since Sweets will get to join in on some of the Scooby gang adventures in the future.
Daley: "It's been awhile since I practiced (kung fu), but I think it's like riding a bike -- you can become a killing machine again."
Originally, the role of Sweets was a guest spot, so Daley was thrilled to join the cast on a regular basis.
Daley: "When I heard they were interested in having me come on as a regular, I was very pleased. I immediately got very attached to the cast and crew."
He was asked a question that might be on the minds of a lot of "Bones" fans -- will Sweets ever try to break Zack (Eric Millegan) out of the mental hospital? Daley said he doesn't know.
Daley: "That would be very interesting if he did. I know that Sweets probably has some grief of keeping that incredibly heavy secret to himself that Zack did not kill anyone."
Daley's father, R.F. Daley, is a Broadway and TV veteran, so Daley got a taste of the acting world early in life. (Daley was actually born in Wheeling, IL, but only lived there a couple of years before the family hit the road while his dad was part of the national tour of "Cats.") His big break came playing Sam Weir on the short-lived, but much-loved, "Freaks and Geeks."
Daley: "When I was young and we were living in New York, I'd be wherever my dad worked, doing my homework backstage. (Acting) was something I immediately became fascinated with. Then came the fateful day when I was 9 years old and asked my parents for an agent."
Outside of acting, Daley is in a band, Dayplayer, and also has a few movie scripts in various stages of development, including "The $40,000 Man" and "Hours of Fun."
"Fingers crossed that one will become an actual movie," Daley said.
Here's what's coming up on "Bones":
Feb. 19 -- "The Princess and the Pear"
Looks like Agent Payton Perotta (Marisa Coughlin) is back to help investigate a case and of course be a potential cause of jealousy for Brennan. In "Princess," a group of eighth-graders find the decomposed body of woman wearing a medieval princess dress. With Booth out of commission from a back injury, Agent Perotta steps in to help with the investigation. With insight from "squint" Colin Fisher, a self-professed geek and expert in the language of sci-fi, the team identifies the woman as a promotional model from ImagiCon, a convention for fans of comic books, video games and other sci-fi genre entertainment. Brennan and the team navigate the outlandish landscape of ImagiCon to find the killer. They soon find the victim may have owned a highly valuable piece of sci-fi memorabilia that many would kill to possess.
Feb. 26 -- "The Bones that Foam"
This episode, which David Boreanaz directed, begins with a bungee-jumping couple who plunges off a bridge on their wedding day only to find a corpse lying at the bottom of a gorge. Booth and Brennan hike down the rocky creek bed to examine the corpse and determine the victim was already dead before he was thrown off of the bridge. Back at the lab, the team tries to determine the cause of death when they notice an unknown substance oozing from the body, throwing the lab into an immediate lockdown. As the victim's bones continue to foam, the team realizes they have only 24 hours to determine the cause of death before the bones disintegrate completely. Meanwhile, Booth and Brennan identify the victim as a car salesman who might have left behind a lot of unsatisfied customers.

"Naked in Bed" Scene is REAL

Thanks to Obsessed With Bones for the article!
Bones: They Finally Do It!
No dream sequence here. NO undercover assignment. Not even alcohol. After months of teasing, creator Hart Hanson confirms Bones (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (David Boreanaz) will hook up in this year's season finale. "They're actually in bed having sex," Hanson tells me. "And they won't be able to just walk away from what happened. It will have serious ramifications."
Booth is able to open up after working with his therapist, Dr. Wyatt (Stephen Fry) to confront problems from his dark past. "Booth's father had some issues," David says. "We're going to find out more about how painful it was for me growing up with that man. My grandfather was a much nicer person." So nice that it'll be revealed that were it not for Grandpa, Booth would be dead. Casting will soon get under way for Gramps, a fighter-pilot hero, who will appear in late April or early May amid a Booth family crisis. "We hope to do some fancy casting around the grandfather," says Hanson. Top on his wish list: James Garner. Hanson believes the veteran actor, like David, has "a certain cool kind of thing going on." But Hanson says Robert Wagner resembles Boreanaz's real dad, Philadelphia weatherman David Thomas.
Viewers will meet Booth's father, an ex-military man-turned-barber, late this season or early next. Hanson says Booth's mom is "probably alive" but "wasn't around for most of his life." Bones' father, Max, is in limbo due to Ryan O'Neal's ongoing, real-life legal drama. "He pleaded guilty to drug possession so he has to go into a program," Hanson says. "But we'd very much like for him to come back and move in with his daughter by the end of the season."
