8 Fun Facts About the 2010-2011 Year-End Ratings: Bones Wins for Fox
FOX might have the two highest-rated shows of the year with its two installments of American Idol, but after that, the network's next best show comes in at number 27 on the list. While House and Glee might get a lot of attention, it's actually Bones that earns that honor, making it the network's highest-rated scripted show and it's second best show overall behind American Idol.

Hart Hanson to Receive the 2011 Outstanding Television Writer Award from Austin Film Festival
Mega Buzz May 24: Moving Forward Together
ADAM: Executive producer Stephen Nathan likes your conspiracy theory. "Let's keep that one alive until next season," he says with a laugh. "Let's let people get all upset." In truth, Nathan says the writers were more concerned with feelings. "Whether or not we see them jumping around in the sack did not seem as important as the emotional acceptance of who they were to each other," Nathan says. "Moving into Season 7, [the pregnancy] cements their relationship and forces them to accept the fact that they are a couple, they are in love and that they will be moving forward together."

Ask Ausiello: May 24 - Fall Schedule
Ausiello: Nope, sure isn’t. Bones will launch in the fall, pass the baton to spinoff The Finder in January, and then return to the schedule in the spring. I hear producers may keep the spirit of Bones alive during its three-month, Emily Deschanel baby-fueled midseason hiatus by integrating some of the show’s supporting players into The Finder.

Fan Summer Project #2: The #Bones Baby Book Idea
"To celebrate the birth of Michael Staccato Vincent Hodgins and Baby Brennan-Booth, Project Bones would like to put together a Bones Baby Book! Similar to the Bones Yearbook, this will be a photobook celebrating the diversity of fans the world over."
Ask Matt: May 23
Question: I had the Bones finale twist spoiled by a Canadian FB friend, but I pretty much figured that was where it was going when I saw the previews. And I think it's another example of incredibly lazy storytelling on the part of the Bones writing team. The whole "Zack is suddenly involved with Gargamel" incident put me off watching for a long time and I'm kind of annoyed with myself with starting again. I'm often irritated by their tendency to do what I call "yadda yadda" in ending their episodes, wrapping up mysteries in ways that make no sense or show any care on the part of the people constructing them. I realize Bones is more about the characters than the mystery, but a little effort to tie up the mystery would be appreciated. To handle a crucial plot point like Bones and Booth sleeping together and having a baby this way is so disappointing. That's all they have for loyal viewers? Seeley and Tempe are too stupid to use birth control? Seeley, who has already suffered the consequences of accidentally getting someone pregnant, is dumb enough to do it again? With its charming cast and American Idol lead-in, Bones should be able to be as big a hit as NCIS, but I really feel the hit-or-miss writing is what has always held the show back. I'd like to tie the writers in chairs and have them watch a few years of NCIS, and maybe they could learn how to slowly unfold a story arc, have realistic character development and not basically flip off your fans. It infuriates me because I actually enjoy this show most of the time. I feel like a parent with a smart kid who keeps brining home C minus grades when I know they could ace the test. I know they can do better! — Cyn
Matt Roush: I have to say, the angry tone of this letter shocks me (but doesn't really surprise me, given the beating Bones gets for nearly everything the writers do with the characters). While the pregnancy twist at the end was abrupt, I felt it was handled rather sweetly, especially in light of all the Angela-Hodgins angst this season, and anything that would put Bones and Booth in a happy place is OK by me. I agree that the focus on character and relationships on Bones often short-changes the mystery of the week, but I don't see how this development "flips off" the fans — especially because most fans know Emily Deschanel is pregnant herself and would probably gripe all next season if they'd made her hide it. And while it's true Bones will never get the monster ratings NCIS enjoys, that's the difference between a procedural on Fox and on CBS — and considering how well Bones is doing on Thursdays, even considering the Idol lead-in (which doesn't benefit every show equally), they must be doing something right.

BONES: Stephen Nathan Teases Fallout From Booth and Brennan’s Baby Cliffhanger and Season 7
Did everyone watch the BONES season finale “The Change in the Game”?
It seems fair to say Brennan’s announcement at the end of the hour that she was pregnant — and, oh yeah, Booth is the baby daddy — will change the show significantly.
So what comes next for our dynamic duo?
BONES executive producer Stephen Nathan was kind enough to get on the phone with me to discuss what may be happening with Booth and Brennan in season seven now that they’re parents-to-be…
Congratulations on having a happy, controversial season finale! You did what you said you would!
Stephen Nathan: Yes, of course! I never lie!...

'Bones' EP Stephen Nathan talks finale's big Brennan twist, teases season 7
SPOILER ALERT! If you haven’t yet watched the Bones season finale — or been spoiled by a Canadian fan who saw it a day before it aired in the U.S. — then stop reading now. Executive producer Stephen Nathan phoned EW after the East Coast airing to talk about the real change in the game…
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: So I just spent five minutes yelling “WHAT?” at my TV — in a good way. I can’t believe Brennan is pregnant. Some fans are worried that because Angela used the word “dream” in conversation with Brennan, Brennan’s conversation with Booth was just a dream. But she really is pregnant, correct?
STEPHEN NATHAN: Absolutely. This is not a dream...

Bones: How Will Babies, Both Real-Life and Otherwise, Impact the Season Finale?
Could Bones sixth season finale turn into a baby boom?
While we know for sure that Thursday’s finale (9/8c, Fox) will feature the birth of Angela and Hodgins’ baby, a certain level of mystery sill revolves around how Emily Deschanel’s real-life pregnancy may impact the show. After all, Deschanel’s character, Dr. Temperance Brennan, did crawl into bed with Booth (David Boreanaz) in a moment of grief during the penultimate episode...Tipster: ChoeBe
BONES: Is the Season Finale Game-Changing? Stephen Nathan Weighs in
Fans have been buzzing about what could potentially be going down in the BONES season finale since the episode title was revealed to be “The Change in the Game.” Yes, the murder investigation involves bowling, but surely the show wouldn’t waste a title so significant on something that was solely case-related, right?
Does the title perhaps pertain to the longstanding will-they-won’t-they tension changing between Booth and Brennan? I asked BONES creator Hart Hanson last month whether there was any concern about hyping up the fans for a potential change in the dynamic if they weren’t prepared to actually get Booth and Brennan together this season, but he laughed and replied, “Oh, I wouldn’t answer that in a million years, Marisa.”
So I tried another approach. I went to BONES executive producer Stephen Nathan to get his take on whether the hour was a legitimate game changer for the series and thankfully he was a bit more willing to talk…

Since you shamelessly took it upon yourself to whip the entire BONES fandom into a frenzy by tweeting out that you had the chance to see tonight’s much-anticipated finale a day early, I am dying to know… your reaction? — Amy
The TV Addict: Truthfully… still processing… can’t function… Hannah… returns… just kidding… But seriously folks, outside of a corner office working at Entertainment Weekly, there is pretty much nothing you could offer me that would entice me to ruin the multiple surprises in store for BONES fans tonight.
Will telling you that you’re 33.2% better looking than Michael Ausiello earn me any BONES scoop in terms of the show’s central “will-they-or-won’t-they” question? — Bella
The TV Addict: Despite the fact that statistics have actually proven that we are in fact 43.2% better looking than Michael Ausiello, we will aqueous to your sucking up — which by the way we give you a solid B- for — by offering up one tantalizing tease: BONES mastermind Hart Hanson knew what he was doing when he named tonight’s episode “The Change in the Game.” Not only would we not have in a million years predicted the direction the show is headed, we can pretty much guarantee BONES will never be the same.
How much, if any role does last week’s death of Vincent Nigel Murray play into tonight’s episode? — Montana
The TV Addict: Unfortunately, due to the self-contained procedural nature of BONES, the fact that the Jeffersonian gang barely acknowledges the shocking events of last week’s episode — with the exception of one incredibly touching gesture — is our only quibble with tonight’s season ender.

Which TV Shows Are the Most Social? [STATS]
When we look at TV ratings, it’s almost always in the context of what programs have the most viewers. Historically, this is a useful metric for advertisers, but as traditional television viewership (and even ownership) continues to decline, it’s more important to track users’ engagement with programming, especially across social sites.
The rankings, which are based on TVGuide.com episode checkins, Facebook Likes and site comments, offer an interesting look at not only what shows are most social, but also how viewers really use social media to interact and engage with their favorite shows...
