Ausiello: Episode Titles

Question: Do you have something on Bones? I don’t care what, just something? —Margo
Ausiello:
Series creator Hart Hanson announced yesterday via Twitter that the “tentative, penciled-in, maybe, unlocked title for [episode] 1, season 6, is ‘The Gorilla in the Room.’” But that’s not the big news. This is the big news: Sources confirm to me exclusively that the title of episode 2 is “Their Arms Around Each Other.” What does it all mean?! Hit the comments with your theories!

Source: EW The Ausiello Files
Tipster: anteaternurse

Likely, this is not based on an actual "source" but on Stephen Nathan's earlier tweet, which I don't think is true because it doesn't follow the usual episode title format "The __ in the __". I think he was just playing around and not being serious. What do you think? Tweet below:

Stephen Nathan:
Episode Two Title: "Their Arms Around Each Other"... since that gorilla thing is taken. Or maybe "The Meal in the Mouth" Or... "That Delicious Roast Pork I Had For Lunch Today"

HH Tweets: Episode 1 Possible Title

HartHanson:
The tentative (penciled-in, maybe, unlocked) title for ep1, Season 6 is "The Gorilla in the Room". Could change. Probably. Most likely.

Eight TV Characters Who Should be Dads

In the years of TV Squad's existence, we have covered a number television dad categories for Father's Day. Including good dads, bad dads, single dads, cartoon dads, dads that should be women and TV dads that should be in porn.

One thing we haven't covered is TV characters that actually should be dads, but aren't. Though nary a son or daughter among them -- that they know of -- there are a number of characters in various shows who would make better fathers than the already established patriarchs. In alphabetical order, here are a few potential dads of note.

Interview with Michael Grant Terry

Since 2008 you can see Michael Grant Terry as lab assistent Wendell Bray in the FOX crime series "Bones". It's his most famous TV role so far. In this interview you can read about his new projects, his love for nature and outdoor activities and his role on "Bones".

Kathy Reichs Interview: Translated Article

On the occasion of the release of her last book in Italy we interviewed Kathy Reichs, whose life inspired the tv series Bones.

What's been the best moment of your career as an author?

My first book, without a doubt. The starting point, creating the characters, the setting...That was my blossom time, the heart of everything. For the rest, I write a book per year so I have to be creative. What's important to me is to carve out my spaces so that I can be creative though my professional commitments that absorb me and for which I travel a lot.

Exactly, why did you decide to become a writer?

It was when I became a professor. I wanted to try something new, something different from academic papers.

What has been the best gift you've ever received from a fan?

Something I got recently: a student slip a cd with photos and a video in one of her academic projects. In every picture she posed pretending to be me at work. I found it very original and funny.

This year Bones hit it big, confirming viewer's passion for crime series. In your opinion what's the recipe for the perfect detective story?

I think that what detective stories' readers look for are an interesting character, a good contextualization of the story and a well-oiled plot that allows them to follow every case and weigh up each and every clue. Further more what it needs to be done is to conclude the story without rely on accidental coincidences, but by converging each clue disseminated during the story. In other words a conclusion needs to be satisfying for the reader and, what's more important, to make sense.

Bones has reached his sixth season. You are a producer and a consultant of the series. How long do you think it could go on?

Generally speaking a series lasts to its seventh season. In our case rumors say it could go on and on, like till the ninth or tenth season. And I think so because of different clues like the selling of our rights to cable. But with Hollywood nothing is for sure so we'll see what will happen year after year.

One could say that Bones, and the chemistry between the two main characters, inspired another series, Castle, broadcasted by ABC. Have you ever seen this show? Do you see any similitude with Bones?

I'm not an expert but I think you're right. We were the first to create a crimedy series. Viewers like this formula and Castle is a perfect example of a series which took us as a reference.

You have already written the script for an episode. Do you think you'll do it again? Can you tell us something about the sixth season?

Yeah, I wrote an episode and it's very likely that I'll write another one for next season. Spoilers about what will happen? I really don't think so.

David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel are perfect for their characters, Booth and Brennan. If they hadn't accepted their roles who would you have like to see in theirs shoes?

They've been Booth and Brennan for so long and they're so good in their roles that I can't really imagine someone else playing their parts.

Do you follow other TV series? Which ones?

To tell the truth I'm a huge fan of CNN's news, but I really like dear old Boston Legal, Mad men and Grey's Anatomy.

Did you happen to watch Lost finale? As an author and a producer what do you think of the disputed final episode?

I haven't watched it so far. You say it's a disputed finale but my friends, who have seen it, told me it was an amazing episode!

In my opinion the main difference between Bones and other series it's that it gets better and better: the further you go ahead and the better are the cases and what lies behind them. Do you think that the fans are riper to understand technical and scientific details that they wouldn't have understand before?

I totally agree with you. Bones' crew has improved: plots are and hold up better. And now the fans are more at ease with the terminology and the characters and how they're involved in the story.

Bones' success is also based on the UST between Booth and Brennan. I read that you want to keep them as colleagues, even though bond by a strong friendship: is that true?

If I knew the answer to that...I wouldn't tell you! It's true there's chemistry between them as there was between X-Files' main characters. But I don't think it's a good idea to let this chemistry develop into a deeper relationship. Usually when that happens it means that the story between the two is going to an end.

At the end of season three, Zach Addy, Gormogon's apprentice, left the series. Last year we found out that he didn't kill anyone. Does that mean that he'll ever come back for real?

Zach reappeared in the hundredth episode, but I don't think he'll return.

Soon it'll begin a series inspired by Terry Gerritsen's novel “Rizzoli&Isles”. What do you think about this new TV show? Do you think it will be a serious competitor to Bones?

Unluckily I don't know these novels so I don't know how to answer this question.

EXCLUSIVE: FOX SETS AUGUST, EARLY SEPTEMBER PLANS

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- FOX has locked in its plans leading up to the launch of its 2010-11 season lineup, network sources have confirmed to the site exclusively.

It all begins - or ends so to speak - with the season finales of "Hell's Kitchen" on Tuesday, August 10 and "So You Think You Can Dance" on Wednesday, August 11 (performance) and Thursday, August 12 (results).

The following week, "Glee," "Bones," "Fringe" and "Human Target" will start to assume their fall time periods: back-to-back repeat episodes of "Glee" on Tuesday nights beginning August 17; repeats of "Bones" and "Fringe" on Thursdays starting August 26; and double encore episodes of "Human Target" on Friday nights effective September 3.

In addition, newcomer "Masterchef," following a three-week run on Tuesday nights (July 27-August 10), will shift to Wednesdays beginning August 18 to lay the groundwork for "Hell's Kitchen's" eighth season debut this fall.

Premiere dates for all of FOX's new and returning fall series will be announced later this summer.

Ausiello: Sweets and Daisy

Question: In light of the fact that Sweets and Daisy broke up in the finale, is it safe to say Carla Gallo is finished with Bones? —Amy
Ausiello:
It is not safe to say that, and here’s why: “I will be back on Bones because the pilot I shot [Fox's The Station] did not get picked up,” Gallo reports. “[The producers] told me they would find a place for me.” Whether or not Daisy has a fiancée to come back to remains to be seen. “My hope is that Dr. Sweets, my Lancelot, doesn’t totally punish me for having left for a year and that he hasn’t moved on. I am so worried that we will not be a couple anymore, [but] I think it would be totally justified for him to be mad or consider it over. Basically his fiancé said, ‘Peace out. See you in a year. My career is more important than our relationship.’ So I could understand the resentment. In real life, I would certainly be upset if someone did that to me. So I am so nervous. I don’t want him to move on. I love them together. They are great for each other. I think what will happen is that I will come back and be like, ‘We can be together now.’ And he’ll be like, ‘Uh, no. You crushed my heart and this is whom I met over the summer. Actually who I did over the summer.’” I actually think that’s a pretty good guess.
