Deschanel: 'Changes won't ruin Bones' (Digital Spy: Misreporting?)
Emily Deschanel has assured viewers that changes in the relationships on Bones will not ruin the show.
The actress, who plays Dr Temperance 'Bones' Brennan, told London Lite that the season five storyline will not dissolve the atmosphere with David Boreanaz's Seeley Booth that keeps the forensic drama interesting.
Deschanel said: "Once you get Bones and Booth together you risk losing the glue that holds it together, namely the sexual tension, but we've managed to do it in such a way that doesn't destroy that tension.
"It's hard to explain without giving too much away and it's nothing shocking, though it could upset some people and excite others."

When I came across this article (which is now in three or four areas on the internet), I didn't pay it any mind. Doesn't it sound just a little too reminiscent of this June 10, 2009 interview? By the way, she is talking about SEASON FOUR in this interview. She is keeping in mind that she's talking to international fans who have not yet seen the finale. If you ask me, this original source was mixing interviews together and saying she's talking about Season Five. That's just my two cents. Bones Producers Give Flashback Episode a Go
...Most Bones fans, especially BuddyTV readers, are looking forward to this trip down memory lane and are hoping that the show will recount Booth and Brennan's separate versions of how they first met so viewers can see the difference and how much they've changed since then. For now, though, fans will just have to stay tuned to find out how it will all play out and trust lead star David Boreanaz since he's also directing the milestone episode.... Last month, I told you that Bones producers were considering rewinding the clock back to Booth and Brennan’s first assignment together for the show’s milestone 100th episode this spring. Well, I’m happy to report that the time-tripping story has been given the green light!
“We’ll be there for the first time those two personalities clashed,” confirms exec producer Stephen Nathan. “Events will conspire to make them come out of the case hating each other and vowing that they will never work together again.”
Wait, there’s more. “We’ll also see the introduction of Angela and the genesis of her friendship with Brennan,” Nathan adds. “And we’ll try and work in a Smurf reference, of course. They certainly have been absent from season 5 so far.”

EXCLUSIVE: FOX TO BENCH FRIDAY SWEEPS LINEUP FOR REPEATS
LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- Less than a week after announcing its November sweeps schedule (read the story), FOX is already making some changes.
Network sources have confirmed Friday entries "Brothers," "'Til Death" and "Dollhouse" will all go on hiatus after their October 23 airings. A rebroadcast of "House's" two-hour season premiere will sub in for the night on October 30 with additional repeats of "House" and "Bones" taking over for the rest of the month...

Question: I am a huge fan of Bones and I was wondering if you could confirm that after the October 15 episode there will not be any new episodes until November 12? I was wondering if you might know why such a long break? I love this show and I am really excited about this season and I am curious the reason.—Nikie
Matt Roush: Hello, post-season baseball. It’s that simple and that frustrating to a show’s continuity. Ever since Fox became the World Series network, it has had to deal with the fact that many of its shows have to sit out several weeks just when the momentum is getting going. (This is one major reason why a show like 24 doesn’t premiere until January.) According to a contact at Fox, depending on how the post-season games play out, there may be an episode of Bones on Nov. 5, but it may not be an original, since it can’t be scheduled and promoted until everyone knows how many games are going to be played.

But since I was looking into Bones anyway, I passed on this question and discovered that Brennan and Angela do have a temporary falling-out in episode six, which is likely to be the first episode back after the World Series. What causes their clash I don’t know, but as you’d expect, Booth gets caught in the crossfire of their disagreement. And I have to assume that it won’t be long before they’re all making up (if not making out, because that would be a very different show).

While NBC and Fox tied in adults 18-49 for the night with 2.4 ratings, they’re headed in opposite directions vs. last season. Last season Fox averaged a 1.4 18-49 rating on the comparable night (Hole in the Wall, Kitchen Nightmares), but NBC averaged a 3.5 (My Name is Earl, ER).

Bones Digs JFK?
Someone alert Arlington Cemetery—Bones may dig up JFK! After abandoning (for now) story lines that would have exhumed the corpses of Abraham Lincoln assassin John Wilkes Booth (Seeley’s ancestor) and Adolf Hitler, the Fox series hired Kennedy assassination conspiracy expert Bob Harris to pen an episode (set to air in January) about the exhumation of a president’s corpse. Executive producer Stephen Nathan tells me the story includes “the government sweeping in and asking for a favor, but then the bones disappear.” Is the show worried about provoking the wrath of Kennedy’s protective daughter, Caroline? “We’re seeing how much we can get away with,” says Nathan. “For now, we’re not using his actual name, so it’s Kennedy-like.”

9.92 Million Viewers for Bones! Oct. 8
Survivor: Samoa took the 8pm hour though it was down a few ticks from last week. Flash Forward took a big dip from last week’s 3.7 adults 18-49 rating down all the way to a 3.0 this week. I DVRd it and watched baseball. FlashForward did win the hour with adults 18-34 though. Bones was actually up a couple of ticks vs. last week.
(Bones was the only one of the top three that gained an audience!)

Michaela: It's our first fight ever. And I don't know what's going to happen.
A: How is it playing that scene with Emily?
M: It was actually, I'm glad that you asked, because it was really fun. We actually laughed through most of it. It was, I mean she's such a good friend of mine anyway, but it was kind of hilarious.
A: Was there hair pulling?
M: There was spitting and some hair pulling.
A: Such a cliche. Can women fight without hair pulling and spitting?
M: I think so.
A: It's not nearly as fun.
M: It's not as fun.

The Flu Hits the Bones Set
After about the thirtieth email/tweet/comment about this story, I've decided to say a little something. Yesterday, Hart tweeted, "First time in Bones history we are shut down from production. Damn swine flu! That's gonna cut into Christmas hiatus." He then later tweeted, "Oops!There is no indication that Boreanaz has swine flu.We expect him back tomorrow. I'm now going out to get swine flu myself in atonement." So, what does this mean? It means that it is not necessarily the Swine Flu... even if it is, it's been proven that the Swine Flu is no more dangerous than the regular flu, so either way, they should be well soon, if not today. And what is this about the Christmas hiatus? Will this effect the schedule? No. It should not. It just means that Hart, Stephen, Emily, David, Tamara, Michaela, John, TJ and the rest of the cast just get a shorter "Christmas break" than they regularly would. It shouldn't change anything. They should be back to work today. We all wish them a speedy recovery, lots of fluids and Vitamin C.
