Bones Promo #7 With Plumbing Scene

Thanks to @MarianaLouzada and @amc815 for the link! If you see, there's a moment of the famous 'plumbing scene' that we've been teased with!

Emily and Zooey together at last!

It’s the on-screen pairing Bones fans have been waiting for. No, not Booth and Brennan — Emily and Zooey! Bones is talking to Emily Deschanel’s movie-star sis, Zooey, about guest-starring this December!

“We’ve been looking for an opportunity to get the Deschanel girls together,” notes exec producer Hart Hanson, “but Zooey’s rockin’ career kept getting in the way.”

"More Kissing" on Bones

The Bones you love is back.

After last season's frustrating finale, Bones returns next month with a heartwarming and very sweet season premiere that has all of the Booth-Bones chemistry you could want, along with outstanding squint comedy, a rollicking good mystery and a guest gig by Cyndi Lauper.

We just chatted up series stars Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz and Michaela Conlin and got them to spill on the season to come...

Booth's Brain: After last season's coma drama, the big issue is Booth's brain. Is he really himself? And if he has residual feelings for Bones, are those feelings genuine, or are they symptoms of brain damage? Emily tells us, "Booth's character is kind of confused about our relationship when he wakes up, and that adds a whole new element to our relationship." Or as David puts it, in his own inestimable way, "The biggest thing coming out of last season is that my mind was shattered, and I've got to get it back. These genuine feelings that I have for her, I really think they're true." Psssst...they are, darn it!

Mondo Flirtation: The main characters never can seem to seal the deal, but that won't stop them from continuing to make goo-goo eyes at each other. As David Boreanaz adorably tells us: "I don't care about the crime solving. I just care about my relationship with her. The other stuff just happens. I don't care about the bones and the crime. I care about what they're doing over the crime scene."

Ausiello:MRI holds the answer

Question: Thanks for the Bones scoopage last week, but it still hasn’t quenched my thirst. Got any more juicy gossip for me? —Bree

Ausiello: Here are two scoops about the Sept. 17 season premiere: The episode features a time jump that’s longer than two weeks but less than six months. And an MRI holds the answer to one of the show’s biggest questions.

Question: Is Roxie gone for good on Bones? I hope so. I want Angela with Hodgins. —Claire

Ausiello: “Rosie is out of the picture for now,” confirms series creator Hart Hanson, who adds that “Angela and Hodgins belong together every bit as much as Booth and Brennan — perhaps more. And they will get there. But it’ll be a rough, rough road.”

Emily To Be Interviewed by Craig Ferguson 8/31

Thanks, Bug, for the tip!

Emily Deschanel will be interviewed on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on Monday August 31st (8/31). The Late Late Show airs
Weeknights at 12:35 AM ET/PT. This should be good. Craig Ferguson is always such a hilarious no-holds-barred kind of interviewer. He doesn't mind asking the hard questions and making ridiculous jokes that other interviewers would be afraid would be insulting. Tune in! I should have a YouTube vid up that day (someone always puts it up online and I'll post it here). There might be a clip of the premiere in there and perhaps some premiere scoop by Emily who is 'making the rounds' in the interviews.

Fan:
Hi! Any idea when we'll be seeing the dancing promo that @HartHanson tweeted about? Thanks!

Stephen Nathan: Just finished shooting it. But soon. Sooooooon...

Booth just wants to have fun?

The people who make "Bones" must know that fans are all itching to see what the fallout from last season's finale. So in the first batch of pictures from the season premiere they give us ...

Cyndi Lauper?

Curse you, wily FOX promo people. The network managed to reveal nothing about the state of the Brennan (Emily Deschanel)-Booth (David Boreanaz) relationship or about the state of Booth's health following his coma. Boreanaz and exec producer Stephen Nathan have said that both things will be addressed early on in the season -- just not in these pictures. Sigh.

As for Lauper, she's playing a psychic named -- get this -- Avalon Harmonia in the season premiere, which airs Thursday, Sept. 17. It doesn't look like she and Booth get off on the right foot.

Ask Kristin: Zooey Deschanel

Lyndsey in Redondo Beach, Calif.: I heard a rumor that Emily Deschanel's sister Zooey might be on Bones. True or false?

Will you accept a "hopefully?" We heard the same thing about the lovely Zooey Deschanel, so we asked sister Emily at Comic-Con, and she told us this: "We've been trying to get her on. We haven't figured that out yet. She's a very busy person." Added Bones show runner Hart Hanson, "We've actually written parts that she can do, and then it doesn't work out. We'll just keep trying."

A Host of Juicy Season 5 Spoilers (Rumors or More?)

Thanks to @onebreath for the link.

Originally posted by Bearcubsfan:

My friend who knows people at Fox and elsewhere gave me some new hints.

She's been pretty accurate and there's good news and not so good but not necessarily bad news.

1. From what she's heard there's no doubt by the time the series ends B&B will be together in a committed relationship. In fact the goop is the series will end either with their wedding or the birth of their first baby together.

2. They will be a couple as in a romantic relationship by the end of the season but exactly how far things will go by the end of the season is a little up in the air.

3. Cam will get a boyfriend this season but before that Booth as her closest male friend very much becomes a father figure in Michelle's life.

4. She's seen more of the season premiere than the promos. She says most fans will love it. She's seen the famous I love you scene and it is better than the promo appears to be. It sets the stage for things to get going and sets where they are now.

5. She's heard there's a kiss in the first few episodes. She knows one's been filmed.

6. The Lie to Me Crossover is about a 90 percent sure thing and would probably air in February.

7. Fox is going to promote this show full steam ahead as we already have seen. There's at least one more season premiere promo.

8. November will be a big month. (GD episode is in November. Major development for B&B in November possible connected)

9. They will be the featured show for promos during the baseball postseason.

10. There might be a national contest kind of thing.

11. Emily and David are dolls to interview and deal with. People who work for magazines fight over who gets to cover the show. And Hart is a hoot. The rest of the cast is wonderful too.

She says it's been fun for people who cover tv to see the cast emerge as stars. When the show started David was the draw because of Angel fans.

And she's a big fan of Emily's and says it's been nice to see her doing more promotion and such on her own this season. Yes as has been speculated a lot has to do with Jamie's pregnancy and David needing to stay close to home but Hart felt she was ready to go on her own as well.

12. They are trying to get Zooey for a guest star.

13. We are right. They are trying to get a big name for Booth's grandfather. Among names she's heard are a lot of our suggestions. From what she understands Alan Alda is one of the leading candidates. And he would love to do the show because he watches the show.

14. Episode 5 is not the disaster we think it might be and it is not what it appears to be necessarily but they're being very tightlipped about it.

She has not heard anything about a love interest for either Booth or Brennan behind a date (she has heard Booth might get a date) and thinks it would be out by now.

And she can't 100 percent confirm it but Angela does not sleep with Booth. She has heard it's neither Booth or Hodgins.

TJ Thyne Answers SOFILPS's Question

Question: Do you have any fun stories from the Bones set? I've read in several interviews that you and the rest of the cast on Bones are laughing in every scene so, what's the truth behind those laughs? What makes it so funny?

Answer:
Hello Sofi!

Fitting question.

I was just shooting a scene 2 days ago, with Tamara Taylor & John Francis Daley.
It was in the Ookie Room. In the scene, John's character comes in and starts fiddling around with some rocks pertinent to the case.

Tamara, John & I got the giggles, and hahahahaha, I kid you not, for like 7 minutes (which is a LONG time when you are in front of the camera),we-could-not-stop-laughing!
It was one of those moments where no matter WHAT happened, one of us would bust. We couldn't look at each other because we'd go for sure. Tamara was right next to me, and I could feel her almost laughing, which would get me going, which would get John going! Oh-My-God, it was painfully humorous! And ALL THE WHILE, they KEPT SHOOTING!!!! WE were determined to get on top of it, but even the crew was cracking up quietly, and we could hear the director and the producers starting to roll with laughter every time one of us even slightly began
to smirk. So so so fun. Side busting fun.

A moment like that is funny because we are all there to do the job, and we KNOW that we can not be laughing! Which only makes it worse. It's like cracking up in Church, or if your teacher is in the midst of yelling at you and you can't help it! It's so not the time to laugh but you can't help it, you are busting up.

It's a small example, a simple visual. The only reason why we get to that state is because of how much we like each other (that or we are delirious from 14 hours of shooting).
Do you know what I mean? When you look forward to seeing someone as we all do, it just puts a smile on your face, and you are that much more susceptible to fits of laughter.
It's our supporting cast as well! Oh my God are they funny! Some of the funniest people I know! Joel and Carla, and Michael, Eugene, Ryan and Brendan, forget about it! (They play FISHER, DAISY, WENDELL, NIGEL, and Booth's brother.) Man, when they are on set, when I have scenes with them, HOWLING through it all! Michael Terry man, and Brendan is freaking hysterical, and I get giddy when Carla is there or Joel. Just funny fun people and we are all doing what we love, ACTING. It s a very happy set when the squints enter stage 6!)

This past summer, Tamara came and shot SHUFFLE with me! And the days when she was on set in scenes with me, it was no different than on Stage 6 at BONES.The crew of SHUFFLE were cracking up at us "You can't get these two together, trouble starts!" they'd say through laughter.

Eric and I were the same way all through season 1-3. Don't get me wrong, we are an extremely professional group and we get the work done!

But every once and a while, in a certain scene, on a certain night, in almost every episode, 7 minutes of pure crack-up occurs. And I love every second of it.
:-)

Ask Ausiello: Sweets' Mommy/ Angela's Bedmate

Question: Will Cyndi Lauper’s psychic turn out to be Sweets’ birth mother on Bones?

Ausiello: That’s a negative. A better question is whether she’ll turn out to be mine. You gotta admit the resemblance is uncanny.

Question: Spill it already! What do you know about the identity of Angela’s lover on Bones? —

Ausiello: You’d be proud of me. I took all your questions/concerns about Angela’s mystery lover directly to series creator Hart Hanson. The transcript of that interrogation conversation is below:

Who will Angela break her vow of celibacy with?

HART HANSON: I’m not telling.

Can you at least rule someone out?

HANSON: Let’s see… who would I be willing to rule out of the equation… Let me think… No, I shouldn’t rule anyone out. That would be foolish of me.

Can you at least rule out Booth?

HANSON: I’m not going to rule out Booth. Are you kidding?

Is Angela’s choice of sex partners connected to the huge fight she and Brennan have?

HANSON: I’m not saying they aren’t connected. There’s a reason both those things happen in the same episode. I’m not saying it’s necessarily a story reason.

Someone scores major points for trying!

Filming in Chatsworth

A lucky Boneyard fan, AngelicBones, was able to see a few scenes of Bones filming across the street from her.

She said "Across the street is a big empty office building where something abbreviated as B&B (Bones, right?) is in their second day of production. Other than the B&B, there is a FBI truck there. There are no police squad cars like the folks in Fillmore had that could conclusively identify what was being shot."

Later on, she was able to confirm that it was indeed a scene of Bones being filmed saying, "It is Bones that is shooting near work. I walked over and saw them film a couple of scenes, including one with Booth, Brennan and Hodgins. It was near the end of the episode (I think) and part of the scene has Booth grabbing a guy off of a bicycle and throwing him against a squad car. It was an action scene. If you could see me you would see me doing my happy dance.

"I am so excited. You know, David and Emily look so big on screen and so little in person (Cliche, I know. DB is still taller than me.) DB is so thin, but gorgeous. He also looks really young. ED is gorgeous and beautiful and looks fabulous in red."

You can read more of that conversation HERE at the Boneyard.

David explains why he didn't go to Comic-Con

"I didn't go to Comic-Con because the baby was going to come at any minute," says the anxious father. "We're just waiting and waiting. It's nerve wracking, extremely, [but] I finally just decided that it's going to come when it's going to come."

In the meantime, "I must maintain a 20-mile radius. I cannot travel beyond that. If I do, I'll freak out – I have to be there when the baby comes."

David Boreanaz Faces Fears

Bones star David Boreanaz is threatening to exercise his power as a producer by skipping an episode later this fall that centers on a major phobia of his. “Are you kidding me?” David exclaimed, when I told him that series creator Hart Hanson is planning for his character, Seeley Booth, and Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) to investigate a death at a chicken farm. “This is like some kind of bad joke,” says the actor, who has a lifelong fear of birds. “Hart can play that game, but I’m going to kill him…. I just won’t show up. I hate birds. They freak me out. It’s more roosters that I’m fearful of, but I’m not crazy about chickens, either.”

Hanson, who plans to shoot at an actual chicken farm with or without David, admits to letting his devilish side get the best of him. “Between Emily, [a passionate animal-rights activist] not wanting to exploit animals and David having a phobia of chickens, it should be an interesting shoot,” he says. “You gotta have a little fun.”
The episode opens with the discovery of a body that looks suspiciously like a half-chicken/half-man creature. “It is bizarre,” Hanson says. “I’m not sure by the end of this episode if anyone’s going to eat chicken again.”

TCA Review

When season 4 of Bones ended, Booth was waking up from his coma after brain surgery to remove a tumor and we were left wondering how that would change things for him and the show. Well I recently did a set visit during the TCAs and we learned a little more what we can expect from the upcoming season that premieres on Fox on September 17th from the stars and producers Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz and the creator Hart Hanson and producer Stephen Nathan.

But before we catch up with season 5, let’s go back to the beginning and find out how Emily Deschanel became the Bones to David Boreanaz’s Booth because she almost didn’t get the role according to David.

Well it definitely developed from the moment the two of us met. I mean look at us; this is the best twosome in television I think as far as relationships of characters are concerned. When I walked into the room and we were testing, there were two other girls. There was this one girl who we all pretty much thought was the part but when Emily and I worked the scene there was definitely some magic that happened in the room and when you are fortunate enough to catch that lightning in a bottle, you don’t really have a sense of where its going to go or how its going to transform. So you work on it and we have been working on our chemistry since day one. We continually work on each episode and each moment in each scene to develop that chemistry and in order to develop that chemistry you have to trust the other person your working with. With that trust comes a lot of things that you can’t really share with other people because it’s between the two of us and I cherish that. She is not only someone I work with but she has become part of my family that I can look at and say I enjoy the moments I had with her because they lead to me becoming a better person and in doing so I learn about her, I learn about myself and hence we get chemistry. I think that chemistry has developed in the last four seasons in a very strong way.

Hart Hanson: She did not age out of the system. She was rescued by her "grandfather". But was he what he said he was?

This is cool that he brought this up. I know that many people have considered this a continuity issue, but I've always wondered if there was a deeper storyline. For a show to continue, there has to be mysteries to be solved (aside from the gruesome bodies). I'm excited to see this one played through.

HH Twitter 98: Bipolar Disorder with Respect, Compassion & Humour

Fan: Please consider taking a bipolar squintern seriously!!! There is nothing "FUN" about mental illness. It can destroy lives.

Hart Hanson: Yikes! Mental illness isn't "fun". The potential for insights, character reveal and drama is writerly fun.Fertile.Good Lord!

Hart Hanson: I am fairly well acquainted with bipolar disorder and wouldn't dream of treating it without respect, compassion, humour.

Fan: Thank you. You have no idea how much your clarification that it will be the writing that is "Fun" about bipolar relieves me.

Emily Deschanel & Hart Hanson of Bones

Hart Hanson: Yeah, here's a taste of what it would be like if they were together. It looked kind of nice. I was thinking this is a good spin off.

Emily Deschanel: My grandma was upset. She was like 'I didn't know they were changing the show. I didn't know you own a performance place.' I said no, this is the end. She was confused by end scene. That it was another world, and that we don't own a performance place.

Hart Hanson: We are always delighted that there's a response. Any response is better than no response. And there was a good response.

Emily Deschanel: The strength of the response, rather than the direction.. that's what really matters.

TVG: Returning Fall Shows Bones

Bones

Where We Left Off: Booth awoke from brain tumor surgery, albeit seemingly with his memory in shambles.

What's Next: All indicators point to Booth's amnesia being a fleeting post-op condition. We hope someone can remember what flirty fun he and Bones had as lovers in the season finale's "alternaverse." On the guest-star front, watch for Cyndi Lauper (playing Angela's psychic) and Brendan Fehr (likely to return as Booth's bro, Jared).

HH Twitter 96: Didn't like the S4 Finale?

Fan: Great Zap2it Interview. Have a Q for you. I loved the finale, but if a fan disliked it, why should they tune in to the opener?

Hart Hanson: Hmm, good question. I'd say if they were bored by it they might not tune in but not liking something is not the same as bored.

SN Twitter 40: Cooking show and dead bodies

Stephen Nathan: If Top Chef also had gruesome dead bodies, it could be the best show ever.

'Bones' creator spills on hookups

The season finale certainly got a passionate reaction.

Hart Hanson: Mixed reviews, I think is what people say.

Were you expecting that kind of response? Or were you thinking more fans would immediately fall in love with it?

HH: What did I expect? What I knew was that [my goal was to make sure] our really loyal fans would like it. And I thought, well, the rest of the [casual viewers] might not like it. But I knew that the people who watched every show would definitely like it more than the people who didn't. But I think I got it wrong. I thought two-thirds of people would be happy and one-third would hate it. And I think it's the other way around. I think about one-third loved it and two-thirds were mad. So that wasn't the best. I didn't guess well.

And of course you have a Twitter account, which means you had immediate access to fan reaction.

HH: Oh boy! And people are not shy [with comments like], "You suck!" They get mad. I get in trouble when I say things like this, but it means they are invested in the show. If there was silence and people went away, that would be a disaster. Hollering at me, and then tuning into the next show to see if I make up for it, that's not a disaster. Although every once in a while you go, hey, come on, it's hard to make a TV show! Give me a break! But you can't be self-pitying. There are no excuses in TV.

Hart Hanson: Ryan Cartwright (Vincent Nigel-Murray) got a gig on MAD MEN. He's too good for that not to happen. Hope we can still grab him on BONES

Ausiello Hodgela Scoop

Question: I watched all your Bones Comic-Con vids and I didn’t hear one question asked about Angela and Hodgins. Sad day. Got any scoop on where they are headed next season? —Shanna

Ausiello:
Good news: When it comes to Ang and Hodg scoop, my Press Tour vids succeeded where the Comic-Con ones failed. Check ‘em out. And here’s a bonus Angela scoop for your trouble: Exec producer Hart Hanson tells me that early in the season Angela will break her vow of celibacy with a man. “It’s someone we’ve seen before,” he teases. “I just told Michaela who it was and she shrieked.” It’s probably no coincidence that in the same episode, Angela and Brennan’s friendship is tested like never before. “Angela and Brennan have a big fight,” Hanson reveals. “Their friendship is deeply challenged. It’ll be the first time that Brennan realizes that being totally rational about something isn’t necessarily being a good friend. And every time she has done that in the past, Angela has come around and excused Brennan’s behavior. This time, if they’re friendship is to be maintained, Brennan has to take a step toward the irrational.”

SN Twitter 37: Episode 1

Stephen Nathan: Episode one looks great. How much do we love Cyndi Lauper?!

HH Twitter 91: Losing characters

Hart Hanson: We are always losing characters is because our casting director, Rick Millikan, is one of BONES greatest secret weapons.

HH Twitter 90: New Defense Lawyer

Hart Hanson: Rats. Looks like HEROES got pal Ernie Hudson, who plays Caroline Julian's ex-hub and our favorite defense lawyer. Good for Ernie not for us.

Revolving Door of FBI Agents

Megan in Washington, D.C.: Did I hear a rumor that there might be more fresh faces on Bones?
You know how the lab has a rotating door of "squints," er, assistants? Well, David Boreanaz, who, don't forget is also a producer on Bones, recently told us that they are thinking (just thinking) of having a revolving door on his end of the game as well.

Here's what he had to say...

"We are also investigating doing it with the FBI now, which I think is really interesting because we have the squints, but we haven't seen much of the wackies in Booth's world," said David at TCA last week. "We just worked with Christopher Duncan. He's a great actor, and he brought so much to the show. He brought such an identity, and what's great about the experience of working with these guys is that they open up the realm of possibilities. To see how these two characters work off of them, how I would react to squint or how she would react to an FBI guy, and it really just opens up the character work."

Bones: Season 5 Preview

Should they or shouldn't they? That's a question Bones has been toying with for the past four seasons. I'm of course referring to Booth and Brennan, whose professional relationship is shrouded with so much sexual tension. Although we saw a glimpse of Booth and Brennan as a happily married couple in an alternate world last season, seeing them actually hooking up for season 5 is not likely to happen, given the circumstances surrounding the fourth season ender.

That's a bummer, right? Well, not exactly. This is the kind of stuff that actually makes or breaks TV, with the writers dragging the relationship on for years while fans wade through an ocean of unresolved sexual tension. In the mean time, there are other things to look forward to in season 5, including some pretty sexual scenes between Booth and Brennan and a guest appearance by Cyndi Lauper. Yes, that's right Cindy Lauper!

When Bones returns for season 5 on Thursday, September 17, the show picks up weeks later and after Brennan returns from a trip to Guatemala. We also find out that her baby plans are on hold and that Booth is still in a state of confusion. Last season's ender suggests that Booth's memory was shattered after his brain surgery, however, some reports are saying that Booth didn't lose his memory, but is wondering which Brennan he's seeing --- the one from his dream, who was his wife and pregnant with his child, or the real-life Bones.

Part of me actually wants Booth to lose his memory or at least parts of it since that would open a lot of doors for Bones as it heads to its fifth season. Be that as it may, season 5 will bring a whole new dynamic to the Brennan and Booth tandem. There will also be possible alternate-world storylines, a guest appearance by Cyndi Lauper as a psychic in the season opener --who may or may not have something to do with some buried bodies, and a heartbreaking episode about Amish people. Oh and David Boreanaz is scheduled to direct the 100th episode.
