Well, all of your favorite Bones peeps made it out of the fall finale alive. That’s the good news. The bad news? One of ’em can’t feel anything from the waist down.

Ask Matt: December 8th, Will Bones Rise Again?

Will Bones Rise Again?

Question: What do you make of the chances of renewal of Bones on Fox given the recent lawsuits brought against the network? — EL
Matt Roush: A lot less than I would have predicted before the two lead actors and Kathy Reichs (author of the book series) jumped on the legal bandwagon, crying foul over the network and studio's accounting practices. The network is still promoting the show—just got screeners to this week's back-to-back fall finale episodes (which I can't promise I'll be able to watch before Thursday)—so it's not entirely toxic, but where and when Bones will return in the midseason lineup after this week has yet to be announced, so it looks like it's still getting about as much respect as it ever has through much of its 11 seasons. And when things get this messy, it's rarely a good sign for a long-term future.

‘Bones’ season 11 spoilers: First details on Booth, Brennan’s big changes

At the end of season 10 of “Bones,” Booth and Brennan came to a big decision that after so many years of solving cases at the Jeffersonian and putting themselves in harm’s way, it may be time to do something a little bit different with their lives. Can you really blame them? They may want to have a change, and also an opportunity for a little bit of happiness without at the same time the relentless danger that surrounds them at almost every second...

Broadcast TV Buzz: ‘Castle’ Set To Be Renewed, CBS Eyes Shortened Final Season For ‘CSI’ & More

Fox:

"As previously reported, the real issues with Bones is contract negotiations as both Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz’s deals are up this season. Sources say that the deals will close and the series will be renewed for next season. That being said, I hear that its possible that such a renewal could come after the Upfronts, especially as Bones doesn’t wrap its current season until June."

Save Our Shows: 'Person of Interest' leads

Fans are definitely interested in saving Person of Interest.
Among 122,764 voters in USA TODAY's 18th annual Save Our Shows poll — which asks viewers to weigh in on which of 21 endangered shows should spared the ax, the CBS drama was the top pick. Half voted to keep it, and just 11% want it dropped. (The rest said they didn't care either way.)
Rounding out the top five were Fox's Bones, which is "on the bubble," awaiting word on a 12th season, only because of expiring contracts for its stars; ABC's freshman dramas Marvel's Agent Carter and Forever; and ABC's Nashville, though support has weakened for the music-fueled drama since last year's poll...

Broadcast TV Buzz: ‘The Messengers’ Facing Cancellation, ‘Castle’ & ‘The Good Wife’ Inch Closer To Renewal & More

"In less than a month, the five networks (ABC, CBS, The CW, Fox and NBC) will descend on New York City for their Upfront Presentations where they will unveil their programming slates for the 2015-2016 season to Madison Avenue. Shortly before then the network will make calls on which of this season’s shows will be back and which will be cancelled...

... The numbers for Bones have been solid and the network’s top brass have already publicly stated that they want to bring the show back for at least one more season. Much like Castle at ABC and Criminal Minds at CBS, the real issue is that the contracts for the two leads (Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz) are up this year. Talks have been occurring, but have been lengthy and “difficult”. That said, both camps are optimistic that deals with the studio will close soon, paving the way for an eleventh season order."

The 6 Kinds of Bubble Shows: What's Getting Renewed, and What's Getting the Ax

"These shows have been solving murders in workmanlike fashion for a combined 64 (!) seasons now, and as they creep up in years and their stars’ salaries continue to rise, it becomes more and more expensive to keep them on the air. That said, there are a few shoo-ins here: The renewals of NCIS, Criminal Minds, Bones, and Castle are just a formality, as long as all the talent signs on the dotted line."
