Bones Mega Buzz: How Long Will Booth and Brennan Be Kept Apart?

Bones fans have had only one thought since Brennan kicked Booth out of the house after his gambling relapse: When will Booth be welcomed back home?
On Thursday's episode (8/7c, Fox), things are looking up as Booth (David Boreanaz) nears his 30-days-sober milestone. But just as the ice begins to thaw, Brennan (Emily Deschanel) learns that Booth didn't invite her to celebrate the occasion with him. Will this latest blow derail the couple's progress?...

BONES: TJ Thyne on Season 10 and more – Exclusive Interview

BONES is heading toward the end of its tenth season Thursdays at 8 PM, but never fear. The series, developed by Hart Hanson from Kathy Reichs’ novels with Emily Deschanel as forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance “Bones” Brennan and David Boreanaz as her husband, FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth, will be back for Season 11.
TJ Thyne, who has been on BONES since the beginning as crime-solving entomologist Dr. Jack Hodgins, has seen his character go from rich single man to broke but absolutely happy married husband of lab artist/tech genius Angela (Michaela Conlin) and father of a little boy.
When Fox and FX Networks throw a party for their various series and the Television Critics Association, Thyne is delighted to spot cast members from one of his other favorite dramas, which will also be coming back next year...

Who Is Booth’s Sponsor on ‘Bones’?

On Bones, Booth (David Boreanaz) has moved out of the house as requested by his wife Brennan (Emily Deschanel). He’s going to Gamblers Anonymous meetings but he’s not participating. His sponsor, Gavin Chadwick, leads the group. Gavin is encouraging Booth to open up and share his story with the group, but Booth isn’t having it. Not yet...

'Bones' Teasers: 7 Good Things to Watch for in "The Woman in the Whirlpool"

Folks, there's no way to get around it. "The Woman in the Whirlpool" is a sobering episode, if you'll pardon the pun. We're dealing the aftermath of Booth lying about his resumed gambling activity and Brennan asking him to leave The Mighty Hut, 2.0, right? There's no way we could have a comedic piece after an upset like that. So, what do we do? We hunker down and look for the good in what is before us because there is good in this episode, and it's more than the quality of the portrayals, Hodgins' latest toy, or a solid case built around some interesting remains. There are some nuggets to hang onto and look for as you sit down (without your dinner, unless you want to be wearing it) to watch Bones' 20th episode of season 10.

In accordance with tradition, I have several teases for you that are cryptic enough to preserve the element of surprise, yet (hopefully) intriguing enough to get you excited about your first viewing of "The Woman in the Whirlpool." You'll have to let me know if I accomplish this goal by writing in the comment box below. Let's get this bone on the road...

The Most Shocking Deaths of the 2014-2015 TV Season

The 2014-2015 TV season has finally wrapped up, though there are a few shows still delivering us fresh new episodes. For example, the season finale of the FOX drama Bones will not take place until June 11, and the network’s reality series Hell’s Kitchen will air its last episode of the season two days earlier on June 9.  Like all of the television seasons prior to this one, there was a lot of shocking twists and turns on some of our favorite series.  However, many of the most outrageous of storylines involved some our most beloved TV show characters perishes.  While some series will wait until the final few episodes to say goodbye to these characters, other shows killed off their stars at the very beginning of the season back in September. Here is a look at some of the most memorable deaths of the 2014-2015 TV season...

John Francis Daley Is 'Bones' Greatest Victory, Because You Can Never Have Too Much Sweets

How’s your day been so far? Kinda meh, right? Well, that’s probably because you haven’t spent any time thinking about Bones’ resident cutie, John Francis Daley, yet today. Because, let me tell you, that’s a day-peaker if ever there was one. So much so that it drove me to invent the phrase “day-peaker.” Seriously, though, he’s a pretty impressive guy. He got his start on Freaks and Geeks with the likes of Jason Segel and James Franco, he wrote the screenplay and story, respectively, for both Horrible Bosses films, and he’s easily the best thing to ever come out of Bones. If that’s not too bold to say.

I’ll spare you all of the Bones/boning jokes, because I don’t particularly want to alienate any of my readers right of the bat. But, just know that there are plenty of jokes re: boning John Francis Daley rattling around in my brain. Apologies to his wife (except NO APOLOGIES, NEVER SURRENDER). Seriously though, for those of you who aren’t familiar with the show, his character is (well, spoiler alertwas) the best. Dr. Lance Sweets was an FBI agent and psychologist, and his character brought a more human dimension to the show. He was by far the most likable person on screen at any given moment. That’s because he’s just the best on his own. In fact, here are nine reasons JFD is the greatest...

BONES: ‘The Woman in the Whirlpool’ Teases

5 Things to Know About BONES “The Woman in the Whirlpool”

Bones returns on Thursday with a new episode that promises to pick up the pieces of May 14th’s shocker, which ultimately saw Brennan kicking Booth to the curb following revelations about his gambling relapse.

Thursday’s new episode “The Woman in the Whirlpool” will see both Brennan and Booth struggling with their new arrangement, both personally and professionally, while the team wonders if they’re headed for divorce.

Meanwhile, duty calls as the body of a well-known cookie jar collector is found in the Potomac river, prompting the team to investigate the victim’s collector community in order to catch the murderer.

And for once Aubrey bites off more than he can chew when he begins a flirtation with one of the Squints.

We’ve seen this episode a little earlier than most, thanks to our friends at FOX, and have 5 new teasers to share with you.

As usual, no major spoilers! We want you to enjoy this episode as much as we did.

Here then are 5 things to know about “The woman in the Whirlpool.”...

'Bones' Exclusive Interview: The Writers Talk Brennan and Booth's Future and a Whirlpool Death

Bones writers Kathy and Kerry Reichs spoke with me recently about "The Woman in the Whirlpool," their third co-writing endeavor on Bones, following "The Witch in the Wardrobe" and "The Beaver in the Dam." Most interesting during our discussion was the marriage of science and "universe," or "arena," which Kathy explained is key to the design of every Bones episode. "The Woman in the Whirlpool" weaves together the science of hydrodynamics on bone, and the universe of cookie jar collecting. In addition, the obsessive collecting angle provides a comparison to Booth's gambling addiction and has everyone pondering their own obsessive behaviors as well.

Two episodes away from the 10th season finale, "The Woman in the Whirlpool" has the Jeffersonian team investigating the death of a woman whose remains are suspected to have been caught in an unforgiving whirlpool of one of the only class five rapids east of the Mississippi, where people have been known to disappear for long periods of time...

Tour the Stylish, Eclectic Home of Bones Star Michaela Conlin

The Los Angeles–area home of Bones star Michaela Conlin is as striking, welcoming, and stylish as the actress herself. Purchased by Conlin in 2007, the house dates back to the ’30s, but thanks to a slow and steady renovation and decoration process, the actress and her friend and designer Drew Lage have crafted a stylish yet approachable home that honors the house’s origins while conveying Conlin’s more current tastes.

“The home has a decidedly Streamline Moderne architectural influence,” Lage says. “Lots of rounded corners, and vaguely nautical references throughout. We really want to enhance what was already there and let it guide us.” By collecting furniture and décor from a wide variety of eclectic sources and practicing patience when it came to finding the “right” piece, the duo created a relaxing and serene home base for Conlin to retreat to after long hours on set.

Genre, History, and Hope as a Fan of Bones

(No spoilers here if you’ve seen the most recent episode, but there is mild speculation.)

I’ve been waffling all week about this post. I’ve had discussions about some of this before, and apparently wind up seldom making sense about what I’m trying to say.
But I’m seeing so many freaked out fans right now that I keep finding myself trying to explain why I’m not worried about where this is going (my trepidation about last week’s The Murder in the Middle East before it aired notwithstanding.) But it’s hard to do in 140 characters or less on Twitter, so I’ll give it a go...

'Bones' Exclusive Interview: The 5 Most Difficult and Fascinating Things about Solving Murder

I recently had the pleasure of talking with Kathy Reichs, the creator of Bones character, forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance Brennan. Joining us was her daughter, Kerry, who co-wrote this season's "The Woman in the Whirlpool" episode. Though Kathy reviews every single Bones episode for scientific accuracy, this is only the third episode the mother-daughter team has envisioned from concept to completed script, the first two being season 5's "The Witch in the Wardrobe," and season 9's "The Dude in the Dam." A novelist and forensic anthropologist herself, Kathy uses her own life experiences as the inspiration for the character of Temperance Brennan in her crime series from which the Bones television series concept sprang.

Before we delved into details (and some juicy episode news) about how the mother-daughter team developed the concept for "The Woman in the Whirlpool," I wanted to know more about the real Kathy 'Temperance Brennan' Reichs in comparison to the Bones' Brennan, (or the literary Brennan for that matter), and who better to ask than the creator herself? Then I wanted to know what is most difficult, and what is most amazing about being a forensic anthropologist. Kathy's answers revealed an unexpected and palpable tenderness toward those whose remains came into her care. Not surprising was how many of the tiny and fascinating details of Kathy's experience have woven their way into the fabric of Bones...

7 Reasons Why 'Murder in the Middle East' Is One of the Absolute Best 'Bones' Episodes of Season 10

No single person can predict what another viewer's favorite episode of their favorite primetime drama will be, but I can tell you this about Bones' "Murder in the Middle East:" If you enjoy Bones for the drama, the masterful embodiment of the spirit of family, the serious interpersonal issues courageously faced, and the gripping action sequences and suspense ... this episode is going to knock your socks off. Bones Preview: Is there too much death in Brennan’s life?

This Thursday Bones fans are being treated to two brand new episodes of the Fox drama. Both “The Lost in the Found” and “The Verdict in the Victims” air Thursday night, but the two Bones episodes aren’t really tied together by one story. But if Fox wants to give us two hours of Bones who are we to argue?
In the first hour, Brennan and Booth investigate the murder of a teenager who was being bullied at school, but the real drama in the episode happens outside of the lab. Then, the case of Alex Rockwell takes center stage in hour two as the serial killer, whom we originally met in “The Baker in the Bits,” is set to be executed in just over 48 hours. Did the wrong man get convicted? The Jeffersonian team will be on a race against the clock to find out.
Before these two episodes air tonight we thought we’d offer up a few hints about what fans can expect. Here’s some information to tide you over while you wait for these new Bones episodes...

Ten Reasons Why You Have to Watch the 'Bones' Double Header!

Bones is gracing our screens with a double header this week and let me tell you, there's nothing better than two back-to-back original episodes of Brennan and Booth. There are similarities between "The Lost in the Found" and "The Verdict in the Victims" in that they both address significant social justice issues, they both share a similar aesthetic in that the scenes are somewhat dark and imbued with a palpable sense of urgency, and they both unveil some very personal issues for numerous main characters. The similarities end there though. Still, the pairing is a solid choice.

What they don't have is any (or not many, at least) references to, or images of, the two most disquieting issues in the Bones universe at present. There is no gambling angst and no concern over Arastoo's safety. However, that third question, the single question hovering over every fanatic's head -- well, there may be a message in one of these episodes that spills the beans on an important verdict. Or, maybe it means absolutely nothing. Don't even try to pretend you don't know what I'm talking about...

Save Our Shows: 'Person of Interest' leads

Fans are definitely interested in saving Person of Interest.
Among 122,764 voters in USA TODAY's 18th annual Save Our Shows poll — which asks viewers to weigh in on which of 21 endangered shows should spared the ax, the CBS drama was the top pick. Half voted to keep it, and just 11% want it dropped. (The rest said they didn't care either way.)
Rounding out the top five were Fox's Bones, which is "on the bubble," awaiting word on a 12th season, only because of expiring contracts for its stars; ABC's freshman dramas Marvel's Agent Carter and Forever; and ABC's Nashville, though support has weakened for the music-fueled drama since last year's poll...
