BONES: Teases For ‘The Lost in the Found’ and ‘The Verdict in the Victims’

We’re only a few hours away from BONES airing two episodes back-to-back (they are not connected by case, so calling it a two-hour episode feels wrong), and after viewing “The Lost in the Found” and “The Verdict in the Victims,” I do have a few teases about what’s going down…

Bones Preview: Is there too much death in Brennan’s life?

This Thursday Bones fans are being treated to two brand new episodes of the Fox drama. Both “The Lost in the Found” and “The Verdict in the Victims” air Thursday night, but the two Bones episodes aren’t really tied together by one story. But if Fox wants to give us two hours of Bones who are we to argue?
In the first hour, Brennan and Booth investigate the murder of a teenager who was being bullied at school, but the real drama in the episode happens outside of the lab. Then, the case of Alex Rockwell takes center stage in hour two as the serial killer, whom we originally met in “The Baker in the Bits,” is set to be executed in just over 48 hours. Did the wrong man get convicted? The Jeffersonian team will be on a race against the clock to find out.
Before these two episodes air tonight we thought we’d offer up a few hints about what fans can expect. Here’s some information to tide you over while you wait for these new Bones episodes...

Ten Reasons Why You Have to Watch the 'Bones' Double Header!

Bones is gracing our screens with a double header this week and let me tell you, there's nothing better than two back-to-back original episodes of Brennan and Booth. There are similarities between "The Lost in the Found" and "The Verdict in the Victims" in that they both address significant social justice issues, they both share a similar aesthetic in that the scenes are somewhat dark and imbued with a palpable sense of urgency, and they both unveil some very personal issues for numerous main characters. The similarities end there though. Still, the pairing is a solid choice.

What they don't have is any (or not many, at least) references to, or images of, the two most disquieting issues in the Bones universe at present. There is no gambling angst and no concern over Arastoo's safety. However, that third question, the single question hovering over every fanatic's head -- well, there may be a message in one of these episodes that spills the beans on an important verdict. Or, maybe it means absolutely nothing. Don't even try to pretend you don't know what I'm talking about...

Extended Synopses: The Lost in the Found/The Verdict in the Victims

10.17 - The Lost in the Found

Sixteen-year-old prep school student Molly Delson is found dead, in a ditch in the Virginia Woodlands, her flesh mostly gone after having been dead for four days. One of the suspects is the man who found the body, who has a history of sleeping with underage girls. Her parents are also suspects, as fractures in the bones show signs of abuse that stopped at puberty. But the fractures could also point towards Molly having been overweight as a child, and her parents say she was an over-achiever who couldn't stand to disappoint anyone, and that she lost the weight as she entered her teen years through her own will power. Other suspects include the Headmistress of Molly's school, as well as some of her fellow students, two of whom are found rifling through Molly's possessions, and another with whom Molly had had a fight shortly before she died. But when they discover that Molly was bullied, and Brennan discovers similarities between her own teen years and the victim's, it leads the team to question whether or not Molly's death was, in fact, a murder.

Meanwhile, Daisy may have found a new romance.... but is she ready to begin dating again?

10.18 - The Verdict in the Victims

With only 48 hours before the execution of serial killer Alex Rockwell, Brennan is double-checking the facts in his case, as she does any time somebody is to be executed due to her work. Rockwell, for his part, is not only calmly facing his fate, he has declined to appeal, and even asked for the date of his execution to be moved up. But when Brennan sees new x-rays of Rockwell that were taken in prison, she declares that he couldn't have been the killer... shocking the rest of the team, given that Rockwell's trial had been a slam-dunk case that took less than a week. The judge doesn't find Brennan's newly-found suspicions to be conclusive, and so he refuses to grant a stay of execution. Now the Jeffersonian team must race against time to find the evidence they need that Rockwell was not responsible for those crimes.
