Another layer is added to the mystery of Booth’s whereabouts and the state of his physical condition when the team discovers that FBI Agent Miller (guest star Kim Raver) has not been entirely truthful with the FBI and the Jeffersonian, keeping vital information from them that could lead them to Booth. Meanwhile, the Jeffersonian gets a surprise visitor, FBI digital forensic scientist Dr. Benjamin Metzger (guest star Josh Casaubon), who works with Angela to try to decode the information the team has been able to uncover regarding Booth’s location and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.  Also, Arastoo makes a major decision that affects his and Cam’s personal and professional relationship in the “The Brother in the Basement” episode of BONES airing Thursday, June 30 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. It seems fairly smoothly that these two both handled the life out of the Jefferstonian Institute fairly well but moving forward in the story, it also showed us another thrilling note that the two will be involved again in a mysterious treason. Considering the premiere's mix of shock and relief, the next episode of "Bones" according to Cartermatt seems like Booth is set again to face another struggle...

'Bones' Teasers: 5 Things You Need While Watching 'The Brother in the Basement'

There isn't much to joke about in "The Brother in the Basement." In fact, making light of he second half of the season 11 Bones premiere would go over like cracking jokes at a funeral. Not cool. "The Brother in the Basement" is an intense ride that changes, well, everyone's lives. At the end of the episode there still remain several mysteries, both personal and professional, that have yet to be resolved. Is it a satisfying Bones-y episode? You bet it is.

Where Bones is concerned, the beauty is always in the details, whether it be damage to a stapes, or the particular trajectory of a bullet going first through a bottle of perfume and then through the victim, or the way Booth looks longingly sideways at Brennan while putting his lips to a bootle of bear. So instead of our usual cryptic teases which would have to involve details, I have some advice about what you are going to need to have with you when you watch "The Brother in the Basement."...

Bones Season Premiere: What Happened to Booth?

Spoiler alert! Don't read further if you haven't watched the season premiere of Bones.
Booth lives! (For now.) There wasn't much doubt that Seeley Booth wouldn’t turn up dead at the beginning of Season 11 premiere—David Boreanaz's departure would probably have leaked by now—but Bones executive producer Michael Peterson, who took the showrunning reins this season, nevertheless decided to try and give fans a scare with a charred dead body that gave every indication of being Booth. But while Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and her ex-colleagues at the Jeffersonian got to breathe a sigh of relief, Booth remains (sorry) missing, and judging by the wound in his side, he doesn't have much time before succumbing to the side effects of massive blood loss (at the very least). Peterson gave us some behind-the-scenes intel on this episode and what we can expect next week in the conclusion to the two-part premiere...

Last night’s episode (spoilers for “The Loyalty in the Lie” follow) saw Brennan facing extreme pressure to prove to the lab – and to herself – that the charred remains of their latest victim were not those of her husband. While Brennan worked to uncover the identity of the man who so closely resembled Booth as to be his doppelganger (or brother as it turned out) Booth was fighting to bring his brother’s Navy pals to justice, becoming critically injured in the process...

Guest starring on a show that's been around for 11 seasons might be intimidating for some actors, but for Kim Raver, who's joined more than one series several years in (Grey's Anatomy and 24), it's old hat. Raver pops in for Bones' two-part season opener as icy FBI agent Grace Miller, who has been tapped to help solve a special case: the disappearance of ex-FBI agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz).

The role is a departure from Raver's last TV gig as Audrey Boudreau on 24: Live Another Day. "Audrey was strong, but she still had to acquiesce to other people," Raver says. Not Grace. While Booth's wife, Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel), and former partner James Aubrey (John Boyd) are sure Booth was taken against his will, Grace has a different idea. "She's concerned that Both is actually a suspect (and not a victim), and she comes in and very strongly states her opinion," Raver says. Naturally, Brennan doesn't take kindly to the insinuation, and the two soon butt heads. "I know, not the amazing, perfect Booth, right?" Raver says with a laugh. "But Grace is concerned." She has reason to be. The gambling addict recently relapsed and has more than once gone rogue.

Grace isn't just around to antagonize Brennan, though. "There are some twists and turns that eventually warm Grace up, " Raver teases. And those turns might explain why she in particular is on this case. The one bummer for Raver is that she won't be around to see Booth's homecoming. "I didn't get to work with David," she laments. But working with Deschanel was treat enough. "I love that her character is this super intelligent, great woman." -Oriana Schwindt
