8 Ways the 'Bones' Winter Finale Will Blow Your Socks Off

Bones made some lofty promises before launching season 11 this past October. After reviewing "The Cowboy in the Contest" and the winter finale, "The Doom in the Boom," I can attest that Bones star Emily Deschanel and Executive Producer Michael Peterson were not just whistling Dixie when they coyly alluded to the provocative content in store for their millions of fans as we head into the winter bleak, er, I mean 'break' for who-knows-how-long. FOX is reserving the right to frustrate fans until they know for sure which of their primetime science experiments will bomb before committing Bones into a spring date and time slot ... in case you hadn't heard (Insert beady-eyed accusatory cough here). But this send off is brilliant, if not somber.

Let's briefly revisit Deschanel and Peterson's highfalutin promises as I parcel out my customary cryptic teases about both episodes airing back-to-back on December 10. "Cowboy in the Competition" and "The Doom in the Boom" are the definition of juxtaposition; a perfect combination of opposites to capture and remind us of all the elements that draw us to this 'roman-cedural' crimedy. Hopefully it will be enough to bridge the gaping hiatus and bring all eyeballs forward to the back end of season 11...

BONES: BONES: Six Teasers from the Cowboy and Explosion-Filled Winter Finale

Booth and Brennan are going back undercover in the first half of the two-hour BONES winter finale. But after a lighthearted and fun episode, the mood turns serious. In the second hour, the team tries to find a cop killer. After having watched the two episodes, we have some teasers to share with you.
Giddy-up! The squints are called in to investigate the death of an accountant who liked to participate in the Frontier Games on the weekend, which involve people wearing traditional cowboy garb and participating in shooting and other competitions. Booth is eager to go undercover at the upcoming games in an attempt to find the killer, thinking that it will be fun. But it’s really Aubrey who seems desperate to participate and can’t stop talking about riding horses. Eventually, he has one of the best entrance lines of the episode (“I’m your posse!”)...

(Scans) Bones on the Cover of TV Guide's What's Worth Watching

Blast From the Past Bones Season Finale, 8/7c, Fox If this season of Bones has taught us anything, it's that the past is never just the past. "Nothing ever really ends," says executive producer Stephen Nathan. "There are always ripples." So we've seen. In Booth's (David Boreanaz) relapse into gambling addiction, in how various squints have dealt with the death of a beloved coworker sweets (John Francis Daley), and now in the looming specter of an old foe.
Serial killer Christopher Pelant (Andrew Leeds) will return in tonight's season finale -- despite having been seemingly shot and killed by Booth last year. "It's not a flashback," promises Nathan. "And he's not a ghost. It's real." Pelant wreaked havoc on the lives of both Booth and wife Brennan (Emily Deschanel) by framing her for murder and breaking up the duo's engagement. However, Nathan says, fans worried that the Pelant story will shanghai the episode can take a deep breath. "The hour is not going to be all about him."
Pelant's reappearance as members of the Jeffersonian team are questioning their futures. After ten years of murder solving, the natives are beginning to get a little restless -- including Booth and Brennan, who are still struggling to reassemble their marriage, given Booth's setback. "This was the biggest emotional trauma they've faced as a couple," says Nathan, "so they're still feeling the effects of it." A life away from the Jeffersonian, and the FBI, might be what's best for them, for daughter Christine, and for their unborn baby. Could a major move be on the horizon?
"There are going to be big changes," Nathan confirms. Since the show hadn't been picked up for Season 11 when the finale was shooting (it since has been renewed), the writers decided to construct an episode that would serve as a satisfying series and season ender. says Nathan, "It isn't a cliffhanger, but there is a cliff." -- Oriana Schwindt

BONES: Michaela Conlin Teases Angela’s Decision in ‘The Life in the Light’

As BONES heads towards the end of its tenth season, two key team members may be saying goodbye to the Jeffersonian. For years, Angela has struggled with where she should be, career-wise, and in tonight’s penultimate hour, “The Life in the Light,” Hodgins presents his wife with a life-changing offer...

If We Controlled Your Remote 6/4/15

I’ve been enjoying the marriage troubles for Booth and Brennan on Bones the last few weeks — not that I love when they have problems, but it’s been nice seeing Brennan in touch with her emotions, and honestly, Booth deserved the tongue lashing she gave him… Not for the gambling but for the lying. He has a lot to make up to her; since she doesn’t trust easily in the first place, he’s going to have to work hard to earn her trust back. I have faith that he will. Stephen Nathan & crew have been through too much with the couple to break them up for good...

Bones Preview: 5 Things About The Life in the Light

Seeley Booth finally seemed ready to accept his problems and start to recover when we last left off on Bones. This week’s episode, “The Life in the Light,” checks in on Booth’s progress and whether or not Brennan is getting any closer to letting him move back home. Of course this wouldn’t be Bones without a case of the week, and this week the focus turns to yoga – yes you read that right, yoga – when the remains of an ex-con are found in the aftermath of a forest fire.
Will working a case together help bring Booth and Brennan closer together? You’ll have to wait until Thursday for the answer to that question, but we can offer up a few bits of information for fans from this week’s episode. Check those out below...

7 Reasons Why 'Murder in the Middle East' Is One of the Absolute Best 'Bones' Episodes of Season 10

No single person can predict what another viewer's favorite episode of their favorite primetime drama will be, but I can tell you this about Bones' "Murder in the Middle East:" If you enjoy Bones for the drama, the masterful embodiment of the spirit of family, the serious interpersonal issues courageously faced, and the gripping action sequences and suspense ... this episode is going to knock your socks off. I kid you not.

BONES: Teases For ‘The Lost in the Found’ and ‘The Verdict in the Victims’

We’re only a few hours away from BONES airing two episodes back-to-back (they are not connected by case, so calling it a two-hour episode feels wrong), and after viewing “The Lost in the Found” and “The Verdict in the Victims,” I do have a few teases about what’s going down…

Bones Preview: Is there too much death in Brennan’s life?

This Thursday Bones fans are being treated to two brand new episodes of the Fox drama. Both “The Lost in the Found” and “The Verdict in the Victims” air Thursday night, but the two Bones episodes aren’t really tied together by one story. But if Fox wants to give us two hours of Bones who are we to argue?
In the first hour, Brennan and Booth investigate the murder of a teenager who was being bullied at school, but the real drama in the episode happens outside of the lab. Then, the case of Alex Rockwell takes center stage in hour two as the serial killer, whom we originally met in “The Baker in the Bits,” is set to be executed in just over 48 hours. Did the wrong man get convicted? The Jeffersonian team will be on a race against the clock to find out.
Before these two episodes air tonight we thought we’d offer up a few hints about what fans can expect. Here’s some information to tide you over while you wait for these new Bones episodes...
