Are we going to be seeing less Angela after she has the baby on Bones? I hope not. I love Michaela Conlin. — Tara
I do believe she’ll have the baby before the end of the season, and when she does, I don’t think we’re going to get dialed down on the Angela action. In fact, Conlin says we should prepare to see Angela channel her inner super-mom. “I feel like Angela, if anything, gonna be tryin’ to strap that baby in as she travels the world. That was something I definitely talked to [creator Hart Hanson] about. When the pregnancy came up initially, I didn’t want it to change who Angela was and how adventurous she is. So I feel like Hart has always been very receptive to that, besides the fact that Hodgins has a lot of money, so maybe we can have somebody helping us.”

Inside TV Spoilers: John Francis Daley Teases His Myth-Centric Bones Episode

JOHN FRANCIS DALEY TEASES HIS MYTH-CENTRIC BONES EPISODE
When John Francis Daley took on the task of co-writing his first episode of Bones with writing partner Jonathan Goldstein, he knew it’d be a challenge to please Booth and Brennan fans with a relatively Sweets-heavy episode. (That was not his choice, by the way, but it turned out to be the situation after he learned Emily Deschanel and David Boreanz would have to split their time between filming the episode and the show’s spin-off, The Locator.)

“We have enough scenes with Booth and Brennan riffing on each other and being the ones to solve the crime, for the most part. I don’t think that the fan universe is going to be too upset — at least I hope,” he jokes. “I haven’t got any death threats yet.”

In the April 14 episode (which I teased a bit to you earlier), the team takes on a case that will force them to ponder many well-known myths (i.e.: crying religious statues, yetis) and delve into the team’s individual beliefs. “We show more of Booth and Brennan connecting in the sense that one of them believes one thing and the other believes another, and yet they figure out how they can both agree upon certain things,” Daley says. “In this case, Booth feels like there is the possibility of the existence of mythological creatures like this, as he would, and Brennan, who is strictly scientific, is always going to try and disprove that. But they meet on a middle ground in this episode, because she is willing to admit that there are things out there that science still hasn’t explained yet, and is open to the possibility of there being something else out there.”

Check InsideTV next week for more from my Q&A with John Francis Daley, where he talks writing and what it was like filming with his dad R.F. Daley, who has a cameo in the episode!

'Bones': A second 'scare' coming for Angela and Hodgins, says Michaela Conlin -- EXCLUSIVE

We’ve heard from Bones exec producers for months that Angela’s pregnancy would not be without complications. On last night’s episode, we found out that both Angela (Michaela Conlin) and Hodgins (TJ Thyne) are carriers of the recessive gene for LCA (Leber’s Congenital Amaurosis), giving their baby a 25 percent chance of blindness. For Angela, an artist, and Hodgins, a scientist, the news was devastating. In the end, the couple reminded each other that they can deal with anything, which is good, because Conlin tells EW the drama isn’t over. “They have another scare coming,” she says of a script that she’s heard about but has not yet read. “It’s a crazy little end of the season for them.” ...

Thanks to the ample lead-in support, Bones at 9 p.m. was above-average at a dominant 7.8/13. But retention out of the 8:30 p.m. portion of American Idol (14.3/23) was lacking at 55 percent.

Exclusive Bones Video Preview: Booth Declares, 'It Is Over!' (New Clip!)

Is the past really the past? This week’s much anticipated episode of Fox’s Bones (Thursday at 9/8c) — directed by series star David Boreanaz — raises that question rather directly, when Brennan and Booth, entrapped within a stuck elevator, are invited by Sweets to resume their “couples” therapy.

Actually, as you see in TVLine’s exclusive video clip, Sweets doesn’t so much invite them back as urge them. You might even say he borderline insists, and even invokes the “H-word” in making his case. And that is perhaps where he makes his biggest misstep, as evidenced by Booth’s reaction...

Find Out What's Next in the Spoiler Room: Bones

Please don’t say that a major character from Bones is being whacked. — Shayna
Okay, I won’t say it — but that doesn’t mean it isn’t true. At this point, my hunch is based on the tiniest rumble, and I’ll let you know if it gets to code-red panic level. Meanwhile, I honestly can’t think of a single member of this team I’d want to see gone. Can you?

Sweets scoop! The Freaks & Geeks reunion (I was there, too, by the way!) at PaleyFest made me fall in love with JFD even more! – Sarah
If you’re a John Francis Daley fan, you’re in luck. Daley told me before he hit the stage at the reunion that the upcoming Mythbusters-themed episode, which he penned along with his writing partner, Jonathan Goldstein, will be a Sweets-heavy hour — much to his chagrin. “I didn’t want to write myself into it too much because I didn’t want to be that guy. But it happened to be when they were filming the spinoff episode, so they needed Emily [Deschanel] and David [Boreanaz] to go to Florida for half of the time when we did the episode we wrote, so we had to put in a lot more Sweets,” he says. “I ended up being that guy who wrote himself into every scene.” No complaints here.

It’s been driving me crazy, and I just had to ask: What ever happened to Zack on Bones? Was he just written out of the storyline for creative purposes or did Eric Millegan leave the show? Is there any chance of him making a guest appearance or coming back for good? I like the interns but nothing can beat Zackaroni. — Rebecca
First off, Zackaroni is an amazing nickname I wish the show had used more frequently when he was around. Second, they likely won’t get a chance to use it any time soon. I too am completely not over Zack, so I posed this exact question to executive producer Stephen Nathan. “I know that there’s a group of people who want him back, and Eric was a very important part of the show for the time he was on the show. Whether he comes back is partly a schedule of scheduling and partly a function of how the show is working now,” Nathan tells me. “He is locked up in the fiction of the show and that makes it difficult for him to return — as well as Eric [Millegan]‘s schedule. We have some new viewers, many of whom don’t really know Zack. So while we’ve always loved him on the show, it’s not a priority at this point, as much as we love Eric.”

Matt's Inside Line Scoop: March 14

Grim Bones | After I posted this story on Sweets/Daisy, many inquired (though not always with the best intentions) as to whether either half of that couple might fall prey to on-the-loose sniper Jacob Broadsky before Bones‘ season is over. Carla Gallo says she has heard a rumor that someone will die, yet she refuses to fret. As she rationalizes, “Really? Can Sweets stand another tragic death in his life? I’m going to put out positive thoughts; I don’t think Daisy’s going to be the one.” Yet not all of the squinterns are as calm, cool and collected. “[We’re] like, ‘Whoever gets a pilot is probably who’s going to die,’” says Gallo, who, along with Ryan Cartwright (aka Vincent Nigel-Murray), falls into that category. Or might the season end on a sour note for Sweets? Says John Francis Daley, “Maybe I haven’t heard about [who’s dying] because I’m the next to go!”

Bones: Is Time Running Out for Sweets/Daisy?

While Bones‘ Booth and Brennan continue their endless romantic tango, Sweets may want to start thinking about dancing double time before he loses his own lady love, Daisy — and for good.

When last the Fox series checked in on the quirky couple, Sweets had gone ring shopping (for a second time, mind you), only to ultimately flake out. That left his buddy Booth the only one to break away from the jeweler with bling in tow. (And we all know how that turned out.)...

Detective work: Parkland grad Michaela Conlin has meaty roles getting to the bottom of things in 'The Lincoln Lawyer' and 'Bones'

Actress Michaela Conlin, a Los Angeles resident for nine years, was back east last summer ping-ponging between Manhattan and her parents' homes in the Allentown area, when she heard about a meaty film role in "The Lincoln Lawyer."

Because she's a regular on the hit Fox TV series "Bones," which airs 23 one-hour episodes every year, it's nearly impossible for Conlin to pursue film roles. But "The Lincoln Lawyer" not only fit nicely into her "Bones" schedule but also offered her the chance to work alongside a cast of seasoned pros.

After a single audition, Conlin was offered the role of a rookie detective whose police work proves instrumental in a case involving a freewheeling attorney (Matthew McConaughey) and a Beverly Hills playboy (Ryan Phillippe) on trial for attempted rape and murder...

'Bones': David Boreanaz talks next week's blizzard episode, that memorable bar scene, and the missing Cocky belt buckle -- EXCLUSIVE

here will be a blackout on Bones next Thursday, but if the promo for the March 17 episode is any indication, there will still be plenty of electricity between Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel). They get stuck together in an elevator (pictured) with seats from Philadelphia’s imploded Veterans Stadium, where Booth used to go to games with his father. Boreanaz, who also takes his fourth turn in the director’s chair for the Fox drama, is happy to give EW the set-up: ”At the start of the episode, these guys are dumping the seats in the middle of this snowstorm, and I’m like, Bank! Bank! Bank! ‘Get the seats and bring ‘em up to the apartment.’ I’m like a little kid in a candy store. I convince Bones and Sweets [John Francis Daley] to lend a hand and help me carry these things that weigh like 8,000 pounds through the snow, up the stairs, and into grandmother’s house we go — the elevator. We jam them in the elevator, the elevator door closes, and a quarter of the way up, the power goes out, and Bones and I are stuck in there for almost half a day,” he says. “That’s where they kinda come to grips with their relationship, and he pulls out a ring and says, ‘Will you marry me, please?’ No.” (That was funny but cruel. “It is, right?” he says, still laughing.) ...

Inside TV Spoilers: Radical Honesty

Bones! PLEASE! — Sharon
Here’s the truth: The upcoming Radical Honesty-themed episode that Mandi Bierly told you about a few months back, will include major reveals for all members of the Jeffersonian team. For example, Angela takes the opportunity to tell Hodgins exactly what she doesn’t like in bed. If the others are this good, we’re in for a treat.

Spoiler TV Ratings News - 11th March 2011

American Idol led into relocated Bones, which finished second behind CBS’ CSI in the overnights with a 7.1/11 at 9 p.m. But minus Grey’s Anatomy on ABC (which aired in an encore telecast as 10 p.m.), Bones has a lock for adult 18-49 time period dominance. Regardless, overnight retention for Bones out of the 8:30 p.m. portion of American Idol (15.4/24) keeps it off the listing of “winners.”
