Over the past eleven seasons, the Bones team has faced way more than their fair share of serial killers. But the season 11 finale will introduce another one—an enemy unlike any they've ever come up against in the past.
"We are going to be seeing a type of serial killer we've never dealt with before," showrunner John Collier tells E! News of the ultra-tense episode, "in a way that really is going to put some of our characters we love into direct jeopardy and conflict with each other. We will be paying it off with an amazing twist that we're really gratified by that's going to leave a lot more to come for the next season."...

We can’t believe “Bones” Season 11 is already drawing to a close. It looks like Thursday’s (July 21) season finale episode promises to be one for the history books.
Earlier in the season, “Bones” introduced The Puppeteer, a serial killer who turns his victims’ corpses into marionettes for him to play with for months on end. The chilling conclusion to the mystery didn’t give us much closure, since The Puppeteer is still roaming the streets, and he seems to have fixated on Brennan (Emily Deschanel)...

Bones fans really won’t want to miss Thursday’s season finale.
“It will be a cliffhanger,” co-showrunner and executive producer Jonathan Collier promises EW. “A key character is threatened.”
The final hour of season 11, ominously titled “The Nightmare Within the Nightmare,” sees the return of the show’s latest serial killer — a mastermind who reflects the dark side of what Brennan (Emily Deschanel) can do. “We really wanted to spook, and we also wanted to go to a villain who kind of sees the world like Brennan does,” co-showrunner Michael Peterson previously told EW. Peterson compares the hour to Hitchcock’s Spellbound, warning, “We’re going to go darker, scarier."...

With no real leads on how to catch the suspect—and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) feeling guilty that the first victim’s remains turned up while she and Booth (David Boreanaz) were temporarily retired—“we get to deal with some of the more psychological elements [of the job] than in other episodes,” executive producer Michael Peterson says. “Brennan’s having nightmares, manifestations of guilt.
