'Bones' EP explains the season premiere's heartbreaking reveal

The previews for the season premiere of Bones hinted that the episode was going to be an emotional affair, and the first half of the two-part premiere did not disappoint.
RIP Jared Booth...

Is This the Last Season of Bones?

Because of an 11th-hour renewal last year, Bones' Season 10 finale felt an awful lot like a series finale as Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) made the difficult decision to leave their increasingly dangerous jobs behind and focus on their (soon-to-expand) family.
Alas, Fox did renew the show, leaving new executive producers Jonathan Collier and Michael Peterson with a huge challenge: How would they honor their characters' decision to call it quits while still finding a way to bring the characters back from their retirement?...

Bones showrunner promises a focus on Booth and Brennan in Season 11

If you’re one of the many Bones fans that can’t get enough of Booth (David Boreanax) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) then rest easy, because new co-showrunner Michael Peterson says the main couple is “definitely the focus coming into the season.” On a call with reporters on Wednesday, Peterson said the show’s “focus is 100% to have as much time as possible with Booth and Brennan,” in Season 11. After all, “that is the heart of the show,” he added before promising that “we will challenge ourselves to give as much screen time as possible,” to Bones central couple this year...

(Transcript) Q&A Interview with Emily Deschanel & EP Michael Peterson About BONES Season 11

Yesterday afternoon, TV Tango participated in a conference call with BONES star Emily Deschanel and new Executive Producer Michael Peterson, who dished about Season 11, discussed details about the first few episodes, hinted at relationship drama for couples (but not Booth and Brennan), and gushed about upcoming guest stars Kim Raver and Betty White. We transcribed that call, edited for clarity, rearranged the order of some questions to improve readabiity, and removed a few very specific spoilers...

BONES Bosses on Embracing the Past, the ‘Energizing’ Season 11, and the Game-Changing Midseason Finale

BONES is starting its impressive 11th season with new bosses in charge — but, thankfully, Jonathan Collier and Michael Peterson (the aforementioned showrunners) have been with the show for a bit, and have a vested interest in doing right by it. “We love the show,” Peterson gushed over the summer. “We’ve been handed the most precious baby in the world, and we want to see her run for a long, long time. We love her. We’re going to do whatever is best for her. We’re not going to do it if it’s not true to the characters, the story. I’d like to see her live as long as THE SIMPSONS lives.”...

'Bones' Boss Vows to Shake Things Up in Season 11

Bones ended Season 10 under the impression that the Fox drama was probably done. When Fox gave the Hart Hanson drama a green light after the finale had already been turned in, new showrunners John Collier and Michael Peterson had to figure out a way to get themselves out of the corner they found themselves in.
The challenge ended up being a gift. Here, Peterson tells The Hollywood Reporter why Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (David Boreanaz) need to find their way back to the lab (it's not just the set), the Sleepy Hollow crossover and why he's excited to see how much they can shake up with the characters who have gotten a little too comfortable with each other...

(Interview) 'Bones': Emily Deschanel and EP Jonathan Collier Preview Season 11

Just when you thought Bones lovebirds Brennan and Booth (Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz) were giving that whole FBI thing a rest, the crime-solving duo is making a return to the Jeffersonian. On the heels of a final-feeling Season 10 finale that had Booth and a very pregnant Brennan walking away from the FBI and the Jeffersonian, Bones is back for an 11th season with the premiere episode “The Loyalty in the Lie.”...

(Video, Youtube) BONES’ Jonathan Collier on the Show’s Next Serial Killer: ‘This One You Don’t See Coming’

BONES has taken on many serial killers during the show’s run, but since the show unraveled the FBI conspiracy earlier this season (following Sweets’ death), there hasn’t been one longer-running baddie the team has had to focus on trying to stop. But that’s going to change soon. When the show returns in 2015 there will be a lot of things in store, as executive producer Jonathan Collier teased in the video below, and one of the big things is a new serial killer fans won’t see coming. Check out the video below for more from Collier!...

(Youtube, Videos) The BONES Cast and Producers Tease Episode 200

BONES is telling a different kind of story for its 200th episode — sure, a body is discovered, but the episode is set in Hollywood in the 1950s, and Brennan is a cop, while Booth is a jewel thief. And since the hour is bringing back a lot of familiar faces, I asked BONES executive producers Stephen Nathan and Jonathan Collier, as well as stars David Boreanaz (Booth), Emily Deschanel (Brennan), Michaela Conlin (Angela), TJ Thyne (Hodgins), Tamara Taylor (Cam), John Boyd (Aubrey), Carla Gallo (Daisy), Eugene Byrd (Clark), Michael Grant Terry (Wendell), Pej Vahdat (Arastoo), Laura Spencer (Jessica), Ignacio Serricchio (Fuentes) for their best teases about the hour…

Screen savers: the untold story of US TV’s showrunners

It’s a truism that TV is now better than the movies. So where does that leave Showrunners: The Art of Running a TV Show? It’s a movie about TV. Specifically, it’s the first feature-length documentary to take us inside the inner sanctums of critically acclaimed and commercially successful US series like The Good Wife, Sons of Anarchy, Bones, House of Lies and Boardwalk Empire...

The Scoop on BONES Season 10 – Exclusive Interview with Stephen Nathan and Jonathan Collier

BONES, Fox’s procedural adapted by Hart Hanson from Kathy Reichs’ novels, begins its tenth season on Thursday, September 25, at 8 PM. When last we saw our protagonists, forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and her husband/partner FBI Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz), they were in deep trouble. Their home was invaded and virtually destroyed by a special ops team intent on covering up a conspiracy. Brennan and Booth protected each other in the melee, but Booth not only got seriously wounded, he wound up arrested for murder.
The outlook for BONES itself is much brighter. Fox Networks president and CEO Peter Rice has told the Television Critics Association, “I hope that this year is not the last year.”...

BONES’ Stephen Nathan and Jonathan Collier Tease Episode 200: It’s Like an Amusement Park Ride

BONES’ 200th episode is practically around the corner — the tenth season premiere marks hour 191 for the Fox drama — and while BONES executive producers Stephen Nathan and Jonathan Collier would only tease that it would be a “totally unique episode” the last time we talked, the duo were willing to give up a few more details at the Fox Eco-Casino party on Monday night..

BONES’ Stephen Nathan and Jonathan Collier Tease Season 10: Episode 200, the Conspiracy, ‘Big’ Lifestyle Changes, and More

When BONES’ ninth season concluded in May, executive producer Stephen Nathan pointed out, “We’ve never quite been in a situation that has affected these characters this much by external forces.” And when the show returns in September, Booth will be in jail, and Brennan and the rest of the Jeffersonian gang will be struggling to right the wrong of his arrest.

Now that production has officially started on BONES’ tenth season, I sat down with Nathan and executive producer Jonathan Collier to find out what they could tease about what’s to come…

BONES: Stephen Nathan and Jonathan Collier on the Return of Pelant, Booth and Brennan as a Couple Post-Wedding, and More

BONES is starting a stretch of very big episodes in the coming weeks (there’s also this little wedding that is coming up…?), so how about a few teases about what’s to come?
On the return of Pelant: BONES fans know that Pelant will have to be dealt with in some capacity before Booth and Brennan can tie the knot, and considering he will be back in tonight’s brand new episode…well, let’s just say things are happening...

BONES: Stephen Nathan, Jonathan Collier, and Michaela Conlin Tease Booth and Brennan’s Wedding

Originally, the plan was to keep the “when” of BONES’ Booth/Brennan wedding on the down low, but things change: the producers are now freely admitting the long-awaited marriage will go down in October. Yes, we’re just weeks away from seeing Booth and Brennan become man and wife!
But just because the duo are going to be hitched ASAP, that doesn’t mean things are going to be absolutely smooth on the road to get them there...
