Has it already been 100 episodes? Time flies when you’re having fun. And few procedurals have been more fun over the years than Bones, which scrambles the senses with some of the grisliest and ickiest crime scenes imaginable with some of the sexiest, funniest banter you’ll find on any show of its type. These squints must have majored in and aced chemistry, because this cast has plenty to spare.
Not that Fox always made it easy to love along the way, juggling it around the schedule and often making ominous threats that the show would be shuttled to the death chamber of Fridays come midseason time. Can’t tell you how many fans I had to talk off the ledge in various “Ask Matt” forums each time Fox foolishly set one of those premature schedules. The mantra used to go like this: It will never happen. Fox knows it has a secret weapon in this show, and just because it gets bounced around every time American Idol comes back on the air doesn’t mean Fox doesn’t value it. Bones is too good for Fridays (and when it does air there, it’s usually in repeats).
