Fox’s ‘Bones‘ has scared up a pretty cool piece of casting for an upcoming episode set at Brennan’s 15-year high school reunion.
Robert Englund, who famously brought murderous high school janitor Freddy Krueger to life in the original ‘Nightmare on Elm Street‘ flicks, will guest star as … a possibly murderous high school janitor, TVGuideMagazine.com reports.
Englund’s sure-to-be-chilling drop-by is but the latest bit of buzz ‘Bones’ is generating this season. The main showcase, of course, is the series’ 100th episode, which is set to air April 8th and chronicle the very first time that Brennan and Booth worked a case together.
“They didn’t get along” back then, ‘Bones’ boss Hart Hanson says, “and we’ll sort of see why.”
That milestone outing, as first reported by Fancast, might also allow us to lay witness to the unlikely couple’s first kiss.
Set a year before the events of the ‘Bones’ pilot, No. 100 will welcome back some familiar faces, including Eric Millegan’s Zach Addy (”[Fans] should be happy to see him again, and I think Eric is delighted to come back, too,” says Hanson) and Patricia Belcher’s Caroline Julian.
Not on hand for the “preunion,” though, is Jonathan Adams, who for the show’s first 22 episodes played Jeffersonian director Dr. Daniel Goodman. Hanson hails Adams as “one of my favorite actors,” but says the storyline dictated that other returns take priority.
Plus, Hanson notes, “It’s like picking a scab. People go, ‘They should never have let that guy go!’ Which is the last thing I want.”
Fox’s ‘Bones’ airs Thursdays at 8 p.m.
