Look at 'Bones' season premiere: Coma, clowns & in the cards?

Link thanks to AMC815!

A goodish percentage of "Bones" fans reacted not so positively to the Season 4 finale which essentially was "it was all a dream," one crazy, coma-induced dream. That's something creator Hart Hanson even addressed in the letter he sent with the Season 5 premiere critics' screener, "The Harbingers in the Fountain." ("This sorely annoyed some of you, along with a vocal chunk of our audience," he wrote, and then continued farther down, "We at Bones think some of you, and they -- the vocal chunk -- will change their minds as we examine the consequences of Booth and Brennan's mind meld.") So there you go. (The season premiere airs 8/7 C Sept. 17).

I wasn't one of those who absolutely hated last season's finale, if only because there's that Maddie and David "Moonlighting" fear running over everything. If Booth and Brennan get together in the real world, is the magic over? Then again, there has to be something there, they can't string us along forever. The season premiere won't of course answer that question entirely, although it kind of does if you believe a Tarot card reader played by Cyndi Lauper -- except, even her parting words could be taken more way than one.

The premiere picks up six weeks in time after the season finale. Booth is working to get himself reinstated as an agent, going over some last-minute psych evaluations with Sweets, and Brennan has just gotten back from a trip to Guatemala. It doesn't take long for B&B to reconnect -- with Brennan literally falling over Booth. Their first case comes up quickly when Angela's psychic, Avaon Harmonia (Cyndi Lauper), leads them to 12 bodies buried beneath a fountain. (Spoilers ahead.)
