It was less than two weeks ago that David Boreanaz became the proud papa of a baby girl, now ET talks to Emily Deschanel and "Bones" executive producer Hart Hanson about the possibility of a bundle of joy for Booth (Boreanaz) and Brennan (Deschanel).
As fans of the series will recall, last season Brennan decided she wanted to become a mother, and she asked Booth to be the father of her baby. But then Booth was diagnosed with a brain tumor and the matter was put to rest.
However, in the season opener, Booth is experiencing romantic feelings toward his partner as a result of the fantasy both characters shared in the season finale -- in which they were married -- and he believes he is in love with Brennan.
So will the question be revisited and might Brennan become pregnant?
"Without a doubt we will address that question," Hanson tells ET. "I always thought it was telling and a good source of the story that when the possibility of Booth being the father of her child receded for various reasons, her interest in having a baby also receded. She doesn't just want to have a baby -- she does not know this -- but she wants to have Booth's baby."
Boreanaz's real-life daughter daughter Bardot Vita Boreanaz was born on August 31, and Deschanel says she is just "adorable." "[We have seen] many, many pictures of the baby. She is adorable, but no [we haven't met her yet]," Emily tells ET. "She is very young, so it would be inappropriate to bring her to the set. We are giving them time to bring her out to the world. I look forward to meeting her."
And Hanson says that the baby's birth has had a calming influence on Boreanaz.
"Certainly David has settled down," Hanson says. "He was a wreck the month preceding the baby's arrival. He is a whole different guy now. He is happy and very, very pleased."
In other "Bones" news, Deschanel's sister Zooey Deschanel may finally make a guest appearance on the show.
"We are trying to get Zooey in for the Christmas episode," Hanson says. "She will play Brennan's closest blood relative not counting her brother and her father."
But Deschanel makes it clear that it is not a done deal, saying, "She has a very unpredictable schedule. She may have to go on tour, but I know she was excited about it."
"Bones" fifth season premiere is Thursday, Sept. 17 at 8 p.m. on FOX.
