So is Sweets really leaving Bones next week? — Diane They’ll explain in the episode, but I wouldn’t count on him being gone for too long. That said, Sweets is definitely on a mission to explore important deeds outside the Jeffersonian — and by the end, the rest of the team will understand that. It’s a very, pun-intended, Sweet episode.

Still sour over the role he played in Pelant’s latest crime spree, Sweets requests a leave of absence to “clear his head” in Monday’s all-new Bones (8/7c, Fox) — but his colleagues (Booth in particular) aren’t letting him go without a fight.
“[Sweets] is at a crossroads and he feels like he wants to do something more with his life than what he’s [currently] doing,” explains David Boreanaz in the following promotional video, which features new footage of the shrink’s emotional goodbye...

These have been found online, but the source is unclear as of yet. Spoiler TV has put them up as well as a Twitter fan. Previously mentioned episode titles are The Secrets in the Proposal, El Carnicero en el Coche (The Butcher in the Car) and The Dude in the Dam. The Cheat in the Retreat is likely the episode spoken of about B&B undercover at a retreat. I am liking the title The Sense in the Sacrifice - maybe Booth finally comes clean about Pelant's blackmail scheme.

Question: After Monday’s Bones finale, can you divert our attention for a bit and tell us a bit more about Bones‘ Season 9 episode “El Carnicero en el Coche” that the cast and crew are shooting right now? From a pic that David Boreanaz tweeted, it appears that Sweets might have quit his job. —Rex
Ausiello: It’s the second episode of Season 9 and, yes, it revolves around Sweets’ new gig. As exec producer Stephen Nathan reveals, the events of the season finale will drive the Jeffersonian’s resident shrink out the door. “He has some leave coming from the FBI, and considering all the stress and guilt he feels after Pelant’s [latest killing spree], he decides to take his leave and explore another opportunity,” Nathan previews. “We’re going to see in Sweets that crime-fighting isn’t the only thing he’s focused on. We’re going to open up his life a little more.” Nathan, however, stresses that the leave is only a temporary one, adding, “He’s going to be around. He’s just going to explore his character a little bit more.”
